Fantastic tutorial Sharon. I really appreciate it. I had forgotten about this technique. But it's the first time I heard of the fusing the papers together. Adding another dimension to our craft. I might use this technique for my new series QuickTip Thursday but I will make sure that I include your name as teaching me more about it.

Hi Sharon, thanks for sharing your knowledge, much appreciated. What do you do for clean up afterwards?
@SharonHoerth11 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for watching! There isn’t too much cleanup involved. I run my iron across some paper towel or a damp rag while it is still warm to clean the plate. As far as the mat goes, I just roll it up and store away. I leave any excess wax on the mat to be reused the next time. 🍯🕯️

Thanks for making this video, so great and helpful! on the other note, for long term storage (prints in a frame) is beewax the suitable for that condition? will it breakdown after some years? or Carnauba Wax better? I have no experience whatsoever so would like to seek your opinion. Thanks!!
@SharonHoerth7 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I don't have any experience with Carnauba wax. I think beeswax should have a pretty long-term life if not exposed to sun or moisture. I've only been using it a couple of years, but my guess is that eventually there may be some breakdown. 💕
@SilverPennyArtisans11 ай бұрын
So the wax doesn’t remelt with use or really warm weather?
@SharonHoerth11 ай бұрын
I haven’t experienced the wax remelting with regular use. I think it would have to get really warm to melt, similar to candle wax. I suppose if it was left out in the hot sun it would probably melt. Hope that helps. 🤗🌻
@HighCountryStudio11 ай бұрын
Thanks very much for this information. Do you know if the beeswax melts again or gets sticky in hot weather? I’m just wondering if a journal with a beeswax image would be a problem in a backpack on hike in the summer , for example.
@SharonHoerth11 ай бұрын
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching! I think if the wax was in direct sunlight and got hot enough it would remelt. Think of a candle in your backpack. It would probably melt similar to that.🕯️🍯

Thank you! I’m still going to try it. Such a lovely effect.

Sharon, how do you store your waxed papers?
@SharonHoerth10 ай бұрын
Hi Sue. I usually make them as I need them, so I don't store many. If I do have an extra one here and there, I just store them with my other papers in folders or boxes. In my experience, the bees waxed papers really do not get sticky. 🌷🌷🌷
