I was looking for a keyboard for my son and after a lot of research we decided to get him the Keylab Essential Mk3 61. The plan is to eventually use it with a DAW but at the moment he just has it hooked up to his computer and playing Analog Lab in standalone mode. The real-time integration between the keyboard's controls and the software is superb.

omg for months now Analog lab has been reading my mk3 as 'generic 9 knob' Just switched it over to essential 3 and the features finally work! Obviously should have watched these vids when I got it. I wasn't even aware I was missing out on anything.

For me it was the other way round, the knobs and faders wouldn't work until I swapped to generic 9 knob and mapped them myself.

Why should it matter which side they are on; as long as they are easily accessible. Being on the right side, I'd imagine it's because most people are right handed. So putting them on the right was the most sensible place to put them. If I was designing the keyboard layout, I would opt for the same place that they are in now. Then put the lesser used knobs, buttons, sliders and switches on the left hand side. And, some ports for peripherals - drum machine, mixers etc on the back and sides.

@@Timetraveller2208 my point is that most people will play better right handed on the keyboard, and while you do that you are able to more easily use the knobs and faders while playing.

My keylab screen is just stuck on Arturia Program even when I open Analog lab. How do I fix this?

I have an issue in FL Studio where the instrument that I chose in Analog Lab is always played along with other instruments. For example I choose the Kick Drum and the synth is played with every hit of the key. How do I fix this? I have this issue only with Analog Lab not with other vsts.

I got my 61 key last night , but the screen does not have a traditional contrast. So basically I can’t be sitting because the letters become washed out , so I have to stand to see the contrast ? Please fix this in software it’s annoying problem. Thanks

I followed exactly your steps but for some reason, the display on my mk3 with AL -V , reads Arturia but not preset names in stand alone.. It will change presets but name remains Arturia? Sometimes its not as easy as tutorials videos make it

@@neuni232 returned that one as defective and just received a new (black one) names of patches work but problems with working smoothly with ableton live.. Ha ha such is the flow with daw integration.. May just buy another rc 505 and go back to hardware live looping : )

@@JahniCoyote So I had an issue that may or may not be the same with my Mk3 and went in and manually updated it(the auto update wasnt actually updating it). That worked for me.

Thank you! i have updated via ASC and re-loaded ableton after clearing caches and preferences. Still some glitches working through ex: selecting patches for analog v via jog wheel on mk3, have to click wheel several times before patch changes.. no big deal but again according to videos of arturia, one click and good to go. scrolling down scenes ableton, via jog wheel, track 1 and 2 get lost from view. may be settings in ableton.. Just never had issues with novation controller.. Thanks again for your suggestion : }

My keyboard is playing 2 notes when i press one note for some reason... example if i press c7, it makes a c7 and a e4 for no reason. Does someone knows how i can fix this?

Contact the manufacturer mate, or where you bought it from. They would be my first port of call anyway. You'll get a quicker reply too.

I just purchase Keylab Essentials mk3 for 61 keys and found that the promised Analog Lab version 5 is full of thousands of presets. Its a shock there is limited presets provided in the purchase of this keyboard. It's asking for upgrading the AnalogLab for pro version. Is there anything missing in my installation? Even the download page for this shows error msg in my account Any possible help

Are you using your keylab with an iPad? My screen didn’t work until I switched to a MacBook. Apparently, iPads aren’t compatible with the software.

Yeah I did use it with a iPad at first and it didn’t work so I hopped on my laptop and download the apps and there is only sound but the screen on the keyboard just doesn’t show anything and I can’t access to any of the features on the keyboard.😠

Pero esta basura de video no es ningùn tutorial es mas bien una muestra de lo que puede hacer el controlador , parece una propaganda No un tutorial ... ni siquiera enseñan como conectar la plataforma , yo tengo todo conectado y las teclas no tocan nada , el teclado no se conecta ... ??? con el unico programa que sirve es con ableton pero no conecta con el analog lab V ... no sirve , me frustra , muestran como si fuera todo a un click y su programa no se conecta con mi mk3 , no sirve ... estoy que lo devuelvo y super molesto.

From all the complaints I've seen, it must be a truly crap piece of equipment. If I needed one (I have a Korg PA600, and a Wavestate mk2), I'd definitely go to Korg for a midi. I would be confident in the knowledge that what it's designed for will work as superbly. I've seen a ton of bad reports regarding Arturia. It makes you wonder if they are built in the sweat shops of China.... personally, I wouldn't waste my time with them . I agree with you, it's more of a sales promotion vid than a tutorial!!!!
