Short answer: IT'S AN ANTENNA/AERIAL! IT ONLY RECEIVES OVER THE AIR BROADCAST CHANNELS. NO CABLE OR SATELLITE CHANNELS. You can find much cheaper and/or better ones on Amazon. Non-amplified, amplified, indoor, outdoor, or DIY ones found online. It all boils down to how close you live to a broadcast tower. If the signal is blocked by a mountain or you live too far away from the tower any antenna is absolutely useless. Cable TV was originally invented for those situations so people could actually watch TV that was being broadcast. Ads for these "Miracle" antennas, especially one TV ad here in the U.S. claims that you can save tons of money by giving up your cable subscription. They say you can still watch all your favorite channels. They don't mention you will be giving up any premium channels like HBO, etc. Mr Aylward, I Ioved your VERY INFORMATIVE video. But, maybe you should do a little research online before you buy 5 of anything. Also, you might want to invest in some video editing software. : -)

Thanks, mate, for a very helpful review of the HDTV antenna. I was very sceptical when I watched the advertisement for the product... It seems I was justified in being so! The ad doesn’t make the need for the amplifier clear, nor that it will become an added required purchase. Well, thanks for settling my mind about the HDTV antenna. I won’t be buying one!!!

Thank you, very informative video. For what I see I would not get any more than the 100+ channels that I am already getting now using freeview and my standard antenna on the house roof, so I will give this product a miss. Thankyou - Great easy to follow video.

This is just a Standard UHF amplified antenna Nothing Special at all You can get all those same channels with just a WIRE COAT HANGER bent into a butterfly shape mounted on a PVC pipe

NO your wrong and yes its all digital now but it uses th UHF frequencies DUH why do you think just a coat hanger or just a piece of wire or your original UHF antenna picks up the channels

Being digital or analog has nothing to do with UHF or VHF. UHF and VHF refer to the bands of frequencies used and digital or analog refers to the method of modulating the signal.

Satellite connector is an fvpe connector with the threads on it. And the push in Aerial connector is a UHF type connector. But as I understand it these things your demonstrating are low frequency aerials

What you've got there is basically a freeview Ariel, and you're not getting all the channels either. By the look of it you're only getting one of the multiplexes or groups of channels which is what happens if the aerial isn't good enough. A bit of wire would probably have worked just as well, sorry.

Thanks for the review James; however, I do have a concern about your aquarium being so close to the tv, why? Because if the glass breaks or you get a leak the water being a conductor of electricity would send the power throughout and shock anyone in the room.

You can’t untick the DTV and Radio when it is tuning. Freeview line up is 147 channels. On an LG TV you shouldn’t bother with analogue as there is no signal there. The channels on 800 are duplicates of BBC and ITV.

Let's face it, it's an over-hyped, ridiculously expensive indoor aerial with a preamp. Pop down to a local shop and buy any cheap indoor aerial. I could open the boxes and say the same in one minute whilst taking time out to do the conga.

I agree this man could have made a much shorter video, "however", most, if not all of you have reacted negatively which is the expected norm in this day and age, what is also the norm is how misleading all commercial advertising is. Advertising is by far the most deceptive of all communications and is purely aimed at your pocket/purse, try not to take it personally as this is just business, and units sold is the highest priority of any business activity. The fact that nowhere within the advertising campaign was the need for an amplifier as the main component of the receiver set up given, this speaks for itself as the product in question will cost you double the amount you thought you had to pay,. The ancient saying (let the buyer beware) is written in stone for good reason.

just received my box,no amplifier, set it up in less than a minuet,it works ,if you are in need of an outside Antenna,all you get is freeview HD Digital channels plus few ,pay per view listed channels ,when you try to connect to them a warning comes on ,saying your tv is not eligible to receive those channel,all these advertising ,that you can do ,without paying for sky,BT,cables exetra.... are baloney and this company is in breach of the advertising rules ,need to be reported to the trading standard officer for misleading the public to buy product, does not do what it is on the box.

Hello James, I just wanted to let you know that in the video at several times I had seen some orbs floating around. There is one the is very prevalent at marker 6:06. There appears to be two particular orbs that are around you. Do you have any family or friends who have passed that were close to you? This is just an ordinary TV aerial. Now you don't need to watch 25 minutes of this bloke fannying about. It's an aerial. All modern TVs pick up Freeview or else they don't work at all. There's nothing special about it more than any other aerial.

Why not simply get a roof aerial for more reliable DTT reception than using this rather lacklustre device, you'd get far better signal strength on all your Freeview multiplexes. There are so many locations in the country that this sort of device would get almost no signal from just an indoor location, proper directionally aligned roof aerials have been essential for good reception for years, nothing has changed. In my area with a good aerial, you get about 90 or so channels over the air, from just inside only some of the terrestrial multiplexes come through. You should have got about 3 times as much over the air as you did, it didn't even manage to pick up the local KMTV in that region. For £150 an aerial installer could have put something up on the roof and you'd have got the whole Freeview shebang!

Jonathon Healy hi there thanks for your comment as far as I know it should work as a normal aerial if the TV is an older TV. However I am unsure but if you did get the aerial boost part and you don't have a USB connector you can plug the USB into a phone charger USB connector or any USB out source also just be aware if you don't have a HD Ready TV I'm pretty sure you won't get HD channels but obviously my TV is HD ready I hope this helps many thanks James

femineity Hi there Yes there is on Freeview side of things as for the normal tv I'm not sure . I think it depends more of what TV you're using as for my Smart TV it was not a problem however I used it on my son's TV which just had Freeview and that was fine also it added note i think it depends more of what tv will using as for my smart tv it was not a problem however are used it on my son's tv british just had freeview and that was fine also at added know i use a usb charger for my phone as the tv in my son's room didn't have usb port . So it is just an amplified indoor antenna, picking up terrestial Freeview. Similar products being pushed on social media now (Jan 2020) imply you get access to cable tv channels on air, but it seems clear that this untrue.

All it is is an amplified antenna to receive regular Freeview TV broadcasts, an outside roof mounted aerial would usually be better, no way is it any form of cutting the cord with pay satellite or cable channels, you don't get any of those channels for a start! but the ads are disingenious and try to hoodwink people into believing they can get those sorts of channels (Sky Sports or something) just over free to air!

I bought a freeview ariel from Home Bargains for £3.99 and I get all these channels plus more. Im also sure poundland do freeview ariels too. All this TVFOX is just one very expensive freeview ariel

bootsamou I'm not sure how much stuff it will pick up I've tried it down my shop and it didn't work at all so I can't really say. However it was not the best in my house but it did get a few extra channels the price is 35 for one but the more you buy the cheaper it gets if you do get one make sure you pay with a credit card for that extra protection hope this helps

So glad I looked this up. What a load of rubbish. And you bought five of them! Put a decent antenna on the chimney or roof space and use a proper amplifier splitter to supply a signal to each room and away you go. This is nothing but a indoor antenna

Nothing against this guy; but those channels he brought up are pure crap. If your a member of the C.P.A. and are trying to beat the wrap, I imagine looking at anything other than your wall paper would be interesting. But for myself, I won't leave the Satellite, or payment for higher band with to run my Roku; which gives me everything imaginable for free. I do pay to have satellite, and I do pay for the band with, but with discounts and coupled with my land line and wi fi and ability to use my computer at random; I would not give any of that up for what little he paid and of course what little he gets. I'm sophisticated, not dumb, so i take what goes into my brain seriously. So thanks for all the hype, but I'm staying with my Turner Classic Movies, and my fox new, and etc. All with phone, satellite, and ability to run my Roku, cost me only $70.00 a month unless I have long distance added. You couldn't give me a cell phone. By the by, bloke, my Roku cost me pence on Amazon. Good day mate!

Thanks for your comment unfortunately if you have bought one of these particular aerials you won't get much out of it no matter what you do however the only way I found to tune any channels was to make sure the Ariel is near window and doing auto tune good luck

I got it working finally day 3 got the aerial outside on my window that opens up letterbox style so I can rest it on top of that pointing in the right direction I found 70 programmes not using the booster that seems to stop it finding anything at all

The point is that the cable companies are required by law to broadcast cable channel signals over the air. I am not talking about regular network signals. These are channels like Discovery, TLC, Spike, and others that are only available on cable or dish. It is broadcast at a very low frequency only to please the FCC and not intended for public viewing. TvFox is able to pick these channels up if you are within 30 miles of the broadcast antenna. I would also think that an outdoor aerial would do the same. This is a super amplified digital antenna and that's it. It does have its limitations. However, it's a great deal if you live in the city where the signals are broadcast. This video could have been cut down to 4 to 6 minutes if he would have cut to the chase and leave out his fidgeting with the stupid packaging and whatever else he could put his hands on. Who cares how many antennas he bought. Watching this was torture because too much detail of insignificant information. Other then that, the product is worth checking out. It could save you a ton of money if you live close enough to the broadcast towers and not out in the rural areas.

Mine came today 9th Jan 19. I only orderd 1 but scanner and booster turned up. I complained by email and they said I ordered both I replied I ony clicked on the £3 quid life gauantee Ive been ripped off for over £70 quid bastards I have sent email asking where I can return it to but no answer I only live 5 miles from my local transmiter . After tuning in several times all I can get less channels? than Free view? load of rubbish TOTAL SCAM. KEEP CLEAR.

I bought 3 of these Fox Antenna Arials and what a load of rubbish I plugged it in my tv retuned the tv and I lost more channels instead of having more channels BBC 1/2 ,ITV/Ch4/Ch5 and most of the other channels were gone !!they are complete rubbish £84 wasted

Your TV Fox Antenna movie would have been good but you are making too much noise with the boxes and everything in the box. How about get yourself organized so you will go into your show with very little noise?

This movie about the invention of a fucking TV aerial was far too short .I still have half my candy coated popcorn. I am going to watch it twice. I will send them another cheque for £82-00 once I have watched sky sports today .yippee can't wait and for just £112-00

Learn more about video production, pardner. Or just look at a short bit of what you were recording. Slamming those boxes around in your video were distracting, and made it difficult to listen to what you were saying. Learn how to reposition your microphone and/or change the way you are handling those boxes or other noisemakers to avoid blasting your mike. You'll have a much better video.

Upscale to aftermarket dab glass mounts found on car windows . Side note look on eBay there around £6 with amplifier. So I’ll assume all company’s are getting them from the same place in China putting there branding on it then ripping us lot off. That’s business I suppose.

This could have been more efficient and effective with extra preparation in advance, editing your raw footage and, most importantly, getting to your point more directly. Also, it would lend credibility if you learn some basic terminology related to the subject you’re discussing. Hope the constructive feedback helps.
