The World Of Work’s “TV News: Behind The Scenes” is a 1973 episode from Encyclopaedia Britannica Films that shows viewers the day’s operations required to broadcast a news program. The episode follows the men and women of ABC7 Eyewitness News, including Roger Grimsby, Bill Beutel, Geraldo Rivera, Robert Labe, and Melba Tolliver, as they work to put together stories for the evening’s broadcast. The episode touches on topics such as how stories are discovered, how they are covered by the news crew, and how they are prepared for a live TV broadcast. The episode opens with TV footage of astronauts returning from a mission and a car race. An assignment editor goes over stories to cover and coordinates coverage with his reporters. A news crew climb into an unmarked ABC news car (03:35). Desk assistants work in the office, answering calls and taking film to the photo lab. Melba Tolliver and a film crew film the set of Burt Reynold’s 1973 Shamus. The news crew films the movie’s two stars, actress Dyan Cannon and lead Burt Reynolds (05:12). Footage of streets in New York City show flooding from a broken water line; the news crew films the mishap on 80th Street (06:30). Geraldo Rivera and his crew cover an anti-war protest where women chant in front of the Rockefeller Center (08:24); they also record people marching in protest on Park Avenue. The program’s editors cut film to fit the news broadcast (11:18). Staff artists draw illustrations to complement the footage for the broadcast. A courier arrives on a motorcycle to pick up film of the anti-war protest and take it back to the news station (17:51). Scripts for the newscast are copied onto teleprompter rolls. Roger Grimsby walks into the studio for the broadcast of the evening news. Grimsby sits at the broadcast table with Bill Beutel. In the studio, staff and crew prepare for the broadcast. The producer directs what shots to show on television. The segment shows footage of the anti-war demonstration, as police-some mounted-clash with protestors.

I saw this film in a Pittsburgh Middle school in Autumn 1975. The "3" on one of the cameras looks either upside down or reversed.

Still looking for a clip I saw a few years where Geraldo was encouraging a protester to be more aggressive. I know I saw it just can't plate the time or place of the clip. Any help out there?
