Sorry for the late response. its been a while since ive checked in. Thanks for the kind words. So the tuning is DADGAD.. its played mostly on 1 string and 3 notes for the entire song, what makes it pop is how you pick it out. I cant tell you as i totally play it all by ear/muscle memory lol, but heres the basics... so its like this.. (Congratulations on the) 2nd fret 3rd string..(Mess you made of) is 1st fret 5th string...(Things) 3rd fret 6th string. during the La La La and last 4 verses where its heavier i add a second note to thicken it up. So where u play 1st fret 5th string, add 3rd fret 4th string also. hope this helps

Nice interpretation and enjoyed the acoustic and ur vocal tone was interesting. Do prefer the seventh as in the original to the root you sing during the la la la part though, and toward the end you consistently skip half a beat or even a whole beat every fourth bar or so.
