TV Remote FIXED! Not Working, Button not Working, or Power Button- Try This First!

One Minute Fix- Try this method first before going out to buy another TV remote. I have fixed numerous TV remotes (and sound bar remotes) by using this method. With the batteries out and holding down the power button you are basically draining all excess battery. Then by pressing each and every button in and out a few times you are basically releasing a stuck button.
Note that draining the excess battery works the same on smartphones and laptops that is on but you cant see the screen or display. So try this method if you have a laptop or Android phone laying around your home that has a black screen problem.

My remote completely didn't work...I tought that this won't work but it actually did. I pressed on 1 button for 1 min without the batteries, after 1 min i put the batteries back in and bum it works. Thank youu❤❤

Excellent video. This is called a capacitive-discharge, the capacitors in electronics sometimes hold on to extra energy, this releases that energy. I've done this to fix a lot of quirky electronic issues with cars. This built-up energy will prevent many electronic systems from doing a clean reset.

Thanks, I have the same exact remote as yours and I did the steps. I also cleaned the battery contacts (that springy things), and voila it works again! I don't know what the exact fix though, but I don't care as long as it's working again as intended.

I don’t know how but this genuinely works! My Sony remote power button was being really flakey, then got to the point where I couldn’t get it to work at all. Did this about 3 times and it worked! Remember to take batteries out, hold power button for 1Min, and then press all the buttons on the remote a few times before putting batteries back in. Repeat a few times if it doesn’t work on the first go!
