You are a genius! One month ago, I dropped the remote control for my old Toshiba TV, model MW20H63. Instantly, it stopped working; would not even turn on the TV. What to do? The original remote control for my TV has been discontinued. Toshiba would not even provide customer support for older models like mine. I bought 4 different replacements, all supposedly “universal”. They did turn on the TV, but would not allow me to chose a channel by pressing the channel number chosen, then dash (-), then 1, which my old remote control allowed me to do. With the replacements, I had to use the up-down buttons to get to the chosen channel, a longer, more tiring route. Today, I followed your technique: I took out the batteries, pressed the power button for at least one minute, pressed all the buttons, and whacked the whole remote several times against my palm; repeated the process three times; replaced the batteries; and PRONTO! The goddamn thing worked! It turned on my good old TV and allowed me to quickly get the channel I wanted simply with: The chosen channel number -dash-1. Gracias!

I want to thank you for this video. My Toshiba remote VC-522 was totally unresponsive on my W522CF VHS player. Your method of pressing the power button for 60 secs after removing batteries and then pressing all the buttons numerous times revived the REMOTE. I'm ecstatic because I was given this player & Remote to help transfer VHS tapes to digital MP4 files. This has made my life much easier for those projects. Holy moly thank you remote professor my remote works now smoothly I trued this in today dated 8 July wednesday 2020....my remote is working fine....but before it was kinda cranky and just switching channels automatically and i tried this method gave a remote a freaking massage touched all the buttons and gave it a good whack two to five times checked and boom it works normal....this is an honest review I have not been paid neither have i been forced to do this review....thank you have subbed and liked

I had a remote for a receiver that was in storage for 3 years, and when attempting to use it again it wouldn’t operate. I removed the batteries which had leaked, and cleaned it from the inside, but still no luck with brand new batteries. After nearly tossing it into the garbage, I saw this video. A replacement for this model of receiver was unfortunately not available. So even though I was skeptical, I thought I may as well give a try to the suggestions raised in this video. I did not believe this would do any good but figured the remote wasn't working anyway so I might as well give it a try and relieve some frustration at the same time. This is incredible. I have an old Yamaha receiver remote where several buttons had stopped working. I followed another guide and took the controller apart, cleaned it thoroughly with alcohol and put it back together but it was still not working well, almost no difference. Was about to open it again and repeat the procedure and possibly glueing aluminium tin foil on the buttons which I've seen in other guides but came across this video, tried it just for the heck of it and my buttons work flawlessly after doing it 2 times. Saved me alot of hassle, thanks!
