How to Fix Any TV Remote Not Working Power Button or other Buttons, Not Responsive, Ghosting

Try this First!!! Before you take your tv remote apart or buy a new one try this method. If your tv remote is acting funny, has a mind of its own, if the power button is not working, or two or three other buttons are non-responsive make sure you watch this video all the through. I have fixed many remotes like this. 60-70% will have your remote working after watching this. If it works plz like and if not work plz dislike. We should see at least 60% likes on this video. thx.

You are a genius! One month ago, I dropped the remote control for my old Toshiba TV, model MW20H63. Instantly, it stopped working; would not even turn on the TV. What to do? The original remote control for my TV has been discontinued. Toshiba would not even provide customer support for older models like mine. I bought 4 different replacements, all supposedly “universal”. They did turn on the TV, but would not allow me to chose a channel by pressing the channel number chosen, then dash (-), then 1, which my old remote control allowed me to do. With the replacements, I had to use the up-down buttons to get to the chosen channel, a longer, more tiring route. Today, I followed your technique: I took out the batteries, pressed the power button for at least one minute, pressed all the buttons, and whacked the whole remote several times against my palm; repeated the process three times; replaced the batteries; and PRONTO! The goddamn thing worked! It turned on my good old TV and allowed me to quickly get the channel I wanted simply with: The chosen channel number -dash-1. Gracias!

I want to thank you for this video. My Toshiba remote VC-522 was totally unresponsive on my W522CF VHS player. Your method of pressing the power button for 60 secs after removing batteries and then pressing all the buttons numerous times revived the REMOTE. Wow! It took six tries but it finally worked. I did not believe this would do any good but figured the remote wasn't working anyway so I might as well give it a try and relieve some frustration at the same time. This was an old remote for a DVD/VHS combo and would not have been easily replaced so I'm extremely happy that it's "fixed".

Every single button has been working fine on the remote EXCEPT the power button. It was great reading through the comments to see how many people this helped. After 4 tries of this, I unfortunately did have to take my remote apart - there ended up being massive dust collection even on the motherboard, so after cleaning that off, the power button finally worked. I’ll be sure to give this a try again in the future should I encounter an issue with a remote again. Thanks!

I had a remote for a receiver that was in storage for 3 years, and when attempting to use it again it wouldn’t operate. I'll be damned, it worked! Ok so here's my case: I bought this very old but very good ultra high definition tv for 50$ and the previous owner gave me the remote which had not been used for years. The tv worked fine but the remote did not. So I opened up the remote and cleaned the inside, which was full of grease, coffee, some old white battery build up stuff and dirt but still was not working. Oh my goodness...this worked like a Charm and it only took one try. My television started malfunctioning all of a sudden when I used the remote. Dancing all over the screen, selecting things on its own. After doing this once it stopped and I was able to select what I wanted. Thanks a Million!! Holy sht it worked. I had a 32" Vizio 2010 plasma tv whose remote was lost for around 7 years and found later that it didn't worked. Jan 16th, 2023, around 2 years since I last grabbed it, I tried downloading an app but my phone had no IR sensor so I tried reaching out for the remote, unsurprisingly didn't worked but I looked up on KZbin to see if I could find a fix.
