They do have some brush on carbon applicators that dry up and form a new layer for conductivity.

Have you got a link to some of this stuff? Just wondering what price it is and if it's worth the money for a simple repair. It would probably be good if you were doing it all the time.

You didn’t replace the screw, not that it really matters.

Very well spotted Sir, I knew someone would noticed. But yes it doesn't matter as it's clipped together super well.👍

Good video, but by far the easiest and quickest way to do this is to dismantle it and lightly scrub everything with a toothbrush (or dishwashing brush) and a spot or two of washing up liquid under a lightly running hot water tap. Rinse, pat dry with kitchen paper and blow water away from the smd chip on he board. Works a treat every time.

Isn't that exactly what I did apart from I used a bowl of warm water and washing up liquid because I didn't want to move the camera over to the sink. I even used a toothbrush as you mentioned in the hot soapy water. I even wiped it dry and blew away the last drops of water with hot air. You seem to have commented exactly what I did 😁👍

For me, it's not about germs... It's other people's body parts that gets me. Just kinda gross.

Yeah I can understand that and some things are really gross.
