This is a riveting interview (even, for a layperson like this writer) listening to tales of military maneuvers, perseverance and bravery in the face of incredible hardship of the 6th offensive. Like all the interviews, it is quite absorbing to witness the intimate moments of military planning, execution, bravery, triumph and pain. Thank you again and again for a wonderful presentation and analysis of this great Eritrtean military history. Thanks again for our brilliant General Tekeste and for vividly portraying your experiences with amazing recall and honesty and for the interviewer, Mr. Antonio many gratitudes. This writer recalls having a conversation in 1980s at Amberber with a childhood friend, who had been in the front line, saying, 'our Eritrean armed forces are amazingly skillful and disciplined ... some are better than any British Sandhurst Military Academy educated strategist'. I do believe these interviews demonstrate the amazing military expertise, thorough discipline, and unrelenting bravery of Eritrean fighters. I truly believe that the Gods of Eritrea spared the good General to chronicle and preserve these epic deeds and events so that it would forever stay in Eritrean minds and hearts as well to be in history books forever.. Among the criminal acts that our current regime has perpetrated is to not allow robust liberal arts Universities for young Eritreans to study their own history and do further research to enhance our cultural and political values . General Tekeste’s contribution goes a long way to lay the groundwork for understanding Eritrean military history during the revolution. We, Eritreans, are fortunate to have this brilliant man educate us about the true history of Eritrean struggle from his own lived experience. Once again, thank you Brig. Tekeste and Sened for providing this venue and leaving this historical record for Eritreans.

Thank you tv Sened Team, Mr Antonio, your interview style is really impressive, chilled down and patient. G. Tekheste, your made a history by sharing your experience as a commander and patriot. I just thought to shade a light over what exactly happened at the first attempt to destroy Wukaw ezz (feb or march 84) whifh was not successful. a Batalion from brigade 23 led by wedi Khifle (a one handed commander) was given a mission to penetrate enemy trench with the goal to destroy WUKAW EZZ command center that was close to Auget (pre breaking the frontline by other brigates). by 5 am wedi Kifle accomplished the mission (some even mention about 2 russians were dead). a SENTQ mechanized unit with few tanks, zoe 23S 40 ml led by Wedi Segid and Mustafa were assigned to penetrate the front line and protect wedi Khifle in the dawn after upon recieving a signal from wedi khifle for us to move in. However, both wedi segid and Mustafa did not make any move toward wedi Khifle for a reason that I still do not know, our attempt to put pressure to mover our tanks to defend wedi khilfe was not successful, I remember Wedi Segid's radio operator shouting at Wedi segid to give instruction to move. at 8 am we were still waiting for instruction to penetrate the front line and rescue wedi khifle and his batalion. I saw only one survivor, who refused to talk to us, he later told us the batalion was among dead and close to a hundred taken prisoner of war. Wedi Segid and Mustafa were later taken for questioning we were told, yet I still can not understand why we were not given instruction to move at dawn and save the batalion ontime. God Bless you General for this incredibly valuable story of our patriots, Eternal Glory to our martyrs.

Antonio did not present himself as a professor of history or as a professional journalist. He is just working best he can as a continuation of his struggle. If you have a better journalist, please get him. Otherwise, just appreciate his efforts. Your COMMENT IS NOT CONSTRUCTIVE and VERY DEPRESSING.

@@temf8072 Dear Tem, It's not fair to criticize someone like this. Antonio is doing his best to record, expose and transfer the heroic history to the new generation. As far as he is making him to talk about it, it is more than enough for us. And don't forget it is B.Generel Tekeste Haile is the narrator not Antonio. Thanks.
