Back then, I hand-copied all stats from the recent NBA season into a spreadsheet, then devised formulas to turn the stats into skills for the players... then hacked the file to have "accurate" player names, numbers, heights & stats! Michael Jordan had pretty much everything at 8 I remember... my friends & I played a FULL SEASON with 82 games at 12 mins per quarter... we got impossibly good. Too much time! Too much fun!

Axel Schünecke classic! We did the same with this and TV sports football :) Amiga was the worst timing for our schooling...

It was indeed a damn good game, along with its bro, TV Sports Football...

I did the same thing with NBA Live 96 on Genesis, printing out team rosters, creating new drafted players, trading and even trying to get realistic stats :D I mean losing in purpose to stronger teams and so on :D

TV sports Basketball ..... Amiga ...... so many memories .... so many hours of gameplay.... I still play TVSB on WINUAE and believe me I enjoy it more much more than NBA 2k. I dont know if this is in connention with my nostalgy from my childhood , but I never enjoyed basketball games as I did with TVSB. Maybe some old NBA live , maybe NBA2K11 but nothing else . AMIGA 500 was the perfect gaming machine . Those days was the best and will never come back so strong no matter what we are going witness in gaming industry

Brings back memories. Played the Celtucs vs Lakers and this one. Ever since I git a hold of it, the other one was forgotten. Just today I remembered about it and so happy to see it. Played it on my first IBM PC. I found the mid court part so amousing 😊.

This was the best basketball video game ever in terms of a realistic stat line at the end of a game, with the exception of blocked shots. As someone else mentioned, blocked shots was a bit out of whack and you could have guys with 15 - 20 blocks a game. With the exception of that one flaw, it was awesome!!

plus no mid court shots at the buzzer

this game was awesome , i used to change all the rosters to reflect the NBA. one major cheat in the game though was what me and my brothers would dub: 'the fast break move" where you switch to role player mode (controlling one player only) and then just wait at the bottom of the screen each time and then get the ball off your rebounder. you get an easy fast break dunk each time. major flaw! we banned ourselves from doing it - illegal offense lol

if this game continue to realese as series every year like ,fifa ,nba 2k and others. Today all we would talk about this and change sports games history.

I had this game on the PC, played full seasons with my dad. I would win pretty easily though lol but if i was losing, i'd turn off the computer and restart lol my dad would hate that. Good memories, great game

I was addicted to this. I think it was one of the few games I actually bought. Remember how I hacked the player info to have me and my friends with their names in there, too. :)

also, if you had the upgrade to 1MB RAM, the player's would say 'rejected!' and 'olley-oop!' each time those plays occured! classic!

i was completely obsessed with this game back in the day because it was customizeable. i played game after game with nba rosters reconstructed for it. i was never as into basketball as i was at this time, ever again. today i don't watch it

if a players number lights green, then it means the pass will go through 100%. If the light is red, it's maybe 50% chance. If the light is white, then its a large chance of getting turnover, but still possible of pass getting through ok. A flaw in this game was it was too easy to block shots. As a defender, all you had to do was hold the fire button and he will jump exactly when the player takes the shot (because he could only jump when the player takes the shot) no accurate timing was needed.

i loved it how the crowd would start getting really loud if home team scored like 10? unanswered points, and they would starting booing if the home team gets score 10 unanswered points against them. sometimes the computer would start to cheat too, somehow they will turn up the defense and you cant dribble past the defender in the backcourt, even if you're fresh and have a speed rating of 9 and defender is exhausted and slower speed. i like it how you can 'catch fire' and keep hitting 3's
@rafikz776 жыл бұрын
darockk omg i remember the booing lmao

This was the one we've been playing after that Lakers-Celtics video game, I like this one there were 31 spaces to create a team, the cinemaware team cannot be change or edited, when my brother introduced to me the NBA Live PS1, we suddenly lost interest playing this, right now I lost my file or disc on it.

the centrecourt part was weird but gave you a little break so you could compose yourself! weird when you pass the ball but it doesnt pass until frontcourt screen and your guy gets the ball out of screen!

Il mio amico Vincenzo perdeva sempre perché invece di fare punti pensava a 'simulare' una reale partita NBA! Che sfigato.. inutile dire che lo tempestavo di tiri da tre e vincevo a mani basse!
