The Price Is Right Part 1 (incomplete)

Here is part of an episode of The Price Is Right. Unfortunately it wasn't on the tape in full so I'll upload what there is in two parts. Not sure of the year, around the 1985 mark. Leslie Crowther is your host. Thanks to benriggers for sending me this.

"Escalator" = "Walk of Fame"! Very cool!

Different rules, though. Here's what the US version should be IF it gets revived: Keep the name "Escalator". Offer four prizes. Example: Two-digit prize, three-digit prize, four-digit prize, and five-digit prize (Car, Van, or Truck). Contestant must bid on the first prize within the range WITHOUT going over. If the contestant is right, the 'bid' will be added to the next range for the next prize and offer to stop the game and keep the prizes. If the contestant is wrong (not within the range, or gone over) then the game is over and loses the prizes in the process.

I was hoping that on 3 Strikes, the Strike sound from Family Fortunes would play whenever a strike was pulled. Oh well.

@Jake Roberts Actually, Walk of Fame predated this. It debuted in November of 1983 (my birthday funny enough, 11/4), before Price ever hit the airwaves there. I think Leslie knew that when he mentioned it being the first time anyone had played it in this form, since there was no second chance given here like was given there. I'm assuming as much anyway.

I was in one of these episodes... I thought it was number 1, as I'd been chosen in the pilot show. Seemingly not. I wonder if it was number 2 or 3... and I wondered if there were any of these still on tape?

@@betaman7988 ... a trip to London staying in a 5 * hotel and a show in the evening (Evita), trip to Ascot on Ladies Day (couldn't go as I was on a school trip to France with a party of students), a wall-mounted kitchen centre (mixer, liquidiser etc) ... not a major prize.

@@betaman7988 Goodness me... I can't remember. Guessing the nearest correct prices was one...but it's back in the mists of time and I'm 71 now!

Gill Chesney-Green Ah well, it’s brilliant that you were on it back in the 80s! Best of luck finding it. I’m sure someone would have recorded it on a video cassette somewhere
