この作品の背景を見ていると川瀬巴水（かわせはすい）という版画家が頭に浮かぶ。大正時代の版画家で、日本ではあまり有名ではないが海外ではかなり人気がある。特に「日本橋（夜明け）」という作品はMARS REDの背景と言われても違和感ないくらい。誰が見ても美しいと思えるような作品ばかりなので興味がある方はぜひ。
