Pretty excited for this, I always hoped they would do a trails anime that isn't a poor adaptation of one of the games (cough cough trails in the sky sc anime). And seeing Rean as a sort of villainous character from others' perspectives is interesting and one of my favorite parts about his character in CS3 and 4

To be fair, he wasnt exactly considered as a villain in CS3 and 4. There was some tension between him and people from Crossbell sure but they also knew he was just doing what he was asked to do.

@@alcatraz-nc2814 yeah that's what I was talking about, not exactly a villain, but people looked at him differently than most jrpg protagonists. Everyone pretty much sees Estelle and Joshua as just bracers and they see Lloyd as a hero, but Rean's relationship with Crossbell and even with certain people in the Empire was a lot more complex than just "omg it's the Ashen Chevalier, so cool" if that makes sense

@@alcatraz-nc2814 He was very much a villain in CS4 when he wiped my party with a S-craft. But, from the info in CS3, I think he's seen as a hero in the Northen War because he lead the humanitarian evacuation efforts with Sara.

@@westenev Exactly. In CS3 we get more or less confirmation from the Northern Jaegers who tell Rean they do not hold a grudge against him for his involvement in the Northern War. In fact, they're even grateful. The main target of their grudge is Aurelia, who understands this perfectly. Sure, I can imagine that initially during this anime Rean will be seen as just another enemy, as the Jaeger protagonists are tasked with investigating the scope of the threat he poses.

Quality wise, the sky movie was great. But of course its expected a lot of cuts will be made to compress the story in just an 1 hour + animation. I like the sky movie more in comparison to Persona 5 animation where they jad a significant amount of time to adpat the content but still adapt it in a very lack luster animation. At least with sky, the animation we got at least holds up pretty well even in today's standard

新規の人向けですが、 【アニメ主人公（ラヴィ）は原作主人公（リィン）が属する帝国（エレボニア）に故郷（ノーザンブリア）を侵略されている】 【ラヴィは英雄である祖父の孫だが、故郷を守るため猟兵へと身を落とし、敵国エレボニアへ潜入しようとしている（内部工作?）】 【敵対するリィンも良い奴（原作主人公だから当然っちゃ当然）だが、帝国に命令されて不本意な任務に就かされている&侵略直前に色々問題が重なり今は軽くナーバスに陥っている】 これだけ抑えていれば原作プレイしてなくてもいいかなって感じです。参考までに。

I'm really excited for this eventhough Rean is portray as villain in this anime. It same as intermission in CS2 when Lloyd and Rixia first met Rean but the air is much heavier for northern war since Rean is already widely known for his achievement at that point. iirc this is where Rean lose control of his ogre power when he push himself too hard to minimize the casualties from North Ambria side and I wanna know the details of that event.

As someone that played the games and knows that the Erobonia won the war, I am excited to see what Rean was told to do during this war. Along with Aurelia Le Guin who was the supreme commander that led the war. From the games, I remembered they said she had mastered two swordsmanship techniques (the Vander and Arseid sword arts)

@@revugameplays5287 this northern war is something that happened after Cold Steel 2 and Before Cold Steel 3, we were only told a summary of this war in the game that we won but never told the specifics so this anime is basically gonna tell us the whole story of what happened in the northern war from a different perspective. To answer your question, sort of a spoiler since you'll have an idea what happened to Rean after CS2 I suppose. someone correct me if I'm wrong

This is great. Rean is in top shape is this period of time, and his reputation with allies and enemies became higher. He has spirit unification control and Valimar as the strongest divine knight (we didnt know about Ishmelga and Lianne divine knight yet). And the best of all, C*** was dead 😍 (yes, I think that he shouldnt came back from the grave 🤮), which made Rean grow a lot as a man and warrior. He became other person after this, the final trial in Reverie Corridor, and the anexation of Crossbell. This blonde guy reminds me of Alexander (I guess thats the name), from Kuro no kiseki. I hope they kept the plot loyal with was said in the beginning of CS3, in Leeves. They didnt talk about a detailed stuff about the war, only that he and Aurelia achieved their goals with no major causalities. Rean is ready to fight hard here in the trailer, which can mean that Falcom is going to adapt some things. I missed Sara in the trailer 😭 she is with Rean, if we read CS3 files about the war. I liked a lot, hope that they can share some glimpse about Class VII, even knowing that this has a high chance of not happening 😭 I really want to see Emma, Laura, Fie, and most importantly, Alisa.

This part is happening while Class 7 story is happening in CS2. I'm guessing Prince Olivert is here. Remember we can't go the other side of Erebonia in our story in Cs2 because of full blown war and we are students . We get to see the burned market here in this trailer which happened in the game. I'm guessing Rean and Altina are working together here like it's a continuation of their mission in CS2 where they met Lloyd Bannings or before they meet Lloyd

ゲームでキャラクターが動いているとはいえ、アニメはやっぱり違う。 アニメーションという技術は、日本文化の頂点だと思う。 『アニメになってキャラクターが動く』というのが、胸が踊る。 例えて言うなら。 アニメ化（良し悪しあるけど）＝宇宙の端。世界の最終地点。 アニメ化の上位互換は存在しないと思う。
