You are right Andy, in saying P2 cars are still expensive. But when I bought my first 32g card. It was $2,230, now I can get a 64 for $650-$700. So a big difference, but as you say, still expensive. I wonder what the new 256 g (What happened to the 128 ?) card. It's aimed at the new AVC Intra 200 and 4K level. But should provide about 150 minutes of shooting for 1080P @ 24/25 FPS.

Jeez, using a P2 card. Why the heck would they omit a hard drive port. How cheap would it be to add a few ports? Allow Sata, eSata, and USB3 ports. Would probably add $50 to the price. I mean I know the answer, I'm just saying. They want to get you to buy their proprietary cards of course, which is money in their pocket rather than money in yours.

+capoman1 The hard drive ports are the P2 cards! :) This is actually a souped up variant of the ancient PCMCIA drives and cards for laptops for higher data rates required for broadcast data rates. Thus the P2 card has actually 4 SD cards inside and an interface to the PCMCA connector; ie the P2 cards connector. The reason most old laptops with PCMCA cannot read a P2 card is the higher current draw and other weird things. Thus the offical Panasonic P2 reader has two usb cords. Other other two connectors are HDMI and SDI (BNC) that can connect to a modern small recorder.
