South Africa's stance on migration is not inherently opposed to immigration but rather directed against poverty. The influx of low-skilled migrants creates competition with economically disadvantaged citizens reliant on government support for healthcare, education, and housing. This stands in contrast to a minority of highly skilled African migrants who access private services and reside in affluent, isolated neighborhoods. Favoring migrants capable of self-financing reduces dependence on public resources. While acknowledging the unfairly prolonged asylum application process, we must engage in meaningful discussions addressing the root causes of conflicts, displacement, and the underdevelopment of our continent. I find it hypocritical that some African nationals decry "xenophobia" while simultaneously endorsing violence against certain groups like the LGBTQI+ community. Yes, the ultimate aspiration is a liberated Africa where *all* her citizens enjoy freedom, dignity, and respect.

Nigeria didn't help South Africa, Nigeria helped the ANC and the PAC - and yes, there's a difference. We are not illiterates, we know that Nigeria was the first country to provide direct financial aid to the now-ruling ANC from the 1960s, while in the 1970s, Nigeria supported the ANC and the PAC with an annual subvention in the region of about $5 million to help them in the struggle. We also know about the SAFR, Mandela Tax, etc. and most importantly we know who the funds were meant for. According to the Nigerian High Commission's OWN records, the Nigerian government only issued just above 300 passports to South Africans, definitely NOT "thousands" and according to SAFR's OWN records, only 86 South African students were educated in Nigeria for free, definitely NOT "thousands". Manje to make the ANC as some form of a royal house, and South Africa as some form of a kingdom - thus making it seem like all South Africans, black, in particular, are subjects of the ANC. Mind you, the ANC and PAC were not the only liberation movements in South Africa - they didn't have the buy in of all South Africans, black, in particular.

If Nigeria had built herself well enough, and made our economy and environment a thriving place to the the extent we are an envy of Nations, countries that are not up to us cannot say the rubbish S/Africans are saying right now. If America had not solidify itself Mexicans and all would have been doing same. A giant that doesn’t know itself will face insults and dehumanization.
