What is obvious about the APC a s party believe in expanding their party base and not necessarily that they want to turn the country into a one party system as opposition parties are complaining about. Developing a party with a strong hold requires strategy and that is why Tinubu was able to win even with most rejected Muslim Muslim ticket. PDP governed the country for sixteen years and no one talked about one party system. The defection happening the country is evident that PDP as an opposition party is not doing a good job. PDP leaders are busy seeking merger and alliances in an ununited manner and also focusing on Wike's crisis with Fubara in Rivers state. With a divided PDP in the states, I feel sorry for the Governor who will have a difficult time competing with the opposition parties in the state in 2027 all because the party is in disarray on the national level. PDP is over confident that because they were the only well spread party in the country right from the very beginning they are indispensable. Election after election have shown that has no impact in winning the election. The founding members of the APC appear to still remain in the party regardless of the fact that some of them remain unhappy with the party. This recent defection must be a wake up call for the leaders of PDP. Right now talk is cheap.
