That is a bet you can make every year, months before the derby. If Mike Smith tells you it has a good chance, you listen. He listened. My first Kentucky Derby was 2010. I won my first 3 bets of the day, all 3 races in a row, including a a bigger bet (for a college student at least) on a 12-1 that paid for the entire trip's expense for both me and my girlfriend. Having that taken care of, I felt comfortable enough to make an even bigger bet on the actual derby. Super Saver came in and we changed our dinner plans to a much nicer place, and I bought her a dress and a diamond necklace LOL Safe to say, I was hooked, horse racing is still the only bets I'll ever make.
