When Daniel talks about the show being appreciated by people from both sides of the political aisle, I think that's partially due to the fact that these stories aren't written from a political perspective, but rather a human one, these are human stories. And really the just the whole premise of the show is very unifying. If the major divide between the political sides in this day and age is sort of the "city vs country" aspect, then this show really brings together those two cultural groups in a really humane way.
@levondelite40724 жыл бұрын

The thing I love about the cast is that their characters are different than the actors who play them. Annie, for example, does not do all the limp wrist, head bob thing that Alexis does and Catherine's normal speaking voice is COMPLETELY different from Moira. There are so many actors whose roles propel them into stardom and then when they are interviewed you see that the character is exactly like the actor
@JoeCarswell4 жыл бұрын
Some of the characters. The two you mentioned mainly. Dan and Eugene's characters are just like them.
@pjesf4 жыл бұрын
@@JoeCarswell - I can see where you're going but I still disagree. If you watch Dan in an interview, he has none of those facial expressions or gesticulations that his character does nor does he say things like "Oh my God". He isn't the slightest bit animated. Eugene is the "straight guy" (comedically) so his character is automatically going to be less animated than the others and closer to "normal". An example of what I was talking about is Lisa Kudrow. There's no doubt that she's super-funny but you can see a lot of Phoebe in her when she does interviews and in other parts.

I absolutely adore David and Patrick's storyline, and agree that it is so refreshing to see a happy gay couple. ❤️ I also want to add though that I think this show also powerfully reconfigured the portrayal of heterosexual relationships, which is so full of cliches! The Ted-Alexis-Mutt story was so much more mature than traditional love triangles. It really hit me when Ted told Alexis about his one night stands when they were broken up and Alexis' response was 'Go Mr. Casanova'! Suddenly the whole 'we were on a break' storyline from Friends felt really silly! Dan said in a different interview about how often loyalty in a relationship revolves entirely around sex and it's important to change that - and they did that with every single relationship on this show!
