Colin Kaepernick didn't take a settlement, he won his grievance. If my job wrongfully stops my money my union files a grievance, if I win I'm paid. That's why Kaepernick still hoped to play. He didn't sell out he won his grievance

concoop67 : He was brought in to get black performers to start working with the NFL. They’re in for a rude awakening, because the artists want Kaepernick back in the league. If the black artists won’t perform, blacks are less likely to watch. If the viewership becomes too homogeneous, advertisers wont sponsor the league, because it hurts the sponsors’ image. With reduced sponsorships, the NFL begins to hurt, and they will lose these athletes to other sports. I’d love to see more of them playing basketball, soccer & baseball anyways. They’ll play longer, make more money, and live longer.

Come to ATL and you'll find 13 murals buy multiple black artist, all around Mercedes Benz Stadium of Kaepernick. (No news coverage) They did it in protest after someone defaced the original artist's work. Don't assume that because the black community is being underrepresented, that as a whole, we are complacent. I'm all about someone getting a check, but don't pass it off as a moral decision when it was exclusively about coopting a movement and monopolizing on someone's else's misfortune. At this point I got more respect for Jeezy who will tell you to you face he only cares about his bag.

YOU can simply not question Jay-Z but I will always forever question, Shawn Corey Carter aka Jay-Z. He screwed over two people at once: Colin Kaepernick with the Social Injustice and the Jermaine Dupri wanting to do something for his city, while the SB was in his city, that could've led to what he signed a deal for his RocNation company. His motives were wrong! He wasn't and isn't qualifiable to host anything that involves Social Injustice. Colin should've been given that job, if he couldn't play: IMO and JD, should've had creative control over the SB halftime show with his Musical efforts. JZ is a snake!! A Judas Iscariot. Also, this isn't the first time that JZ has been used. He was used for the Barclays center and Tidal; that he had a low percentage in; unless, he likes being used and seen as a drug dealer still but with a new platform.

Civi Mahdi, Exactly!!!!! when people see Colin Kap all they think about is the Nfl and Colin losing his job period! What is lost on everybody is that is the whole point! most folks have forgotten why Colin even knelt, to begin with, and until we can conceptualize that this was the plan from the jump we will always be a day late and a dollar short. Colin losing his job upstaged police brutality it DID NOT bring awareness to it and that was no happenstance and everybody fell for it.

He hasn't done enough. Open a soup kitchen jz. Buy some projects and repurpose them for the good of the people in the home town you grew up in. That wont get you much publicity. @@miaeba I don't disagree with you,but this is the bigger picture. Jay-Z has been making money and rapping (aside from hustling) since the late 80s. Plus, when he's not rapping,he's being a business man with his other ventures, while still guest appearing on his wife's music. He's not just sitting on his ass or his money. He's still working. Even when you don't hardly ever hear from him. Beyonce makes money off of those high ass ticket prices, endorsements, acting, and album sales. Plus, touring is also a much more larger way of making income for entertainers nowadays. She's not as big of a business person,as Jay-Z is. While she's on stage,he's on the phone conducting business.

I usually agree with DL BUT not this time. He wants to give Jay z the benefit of the doubt. Your slave analogy described this situation perfectly. Colin is the rebellion leader that got his head chopped off. The NFL blackballed him to essentially send to a message the other black players...OBEY OR ELSE. Jay was the slave that told by conforming. Do you think Jay needs the NFL to push social change?? NO. If he believed this would help, then why keep it hidden until the deal was finalized? Why did he dissuade Jermaine Dupree from working with the NFL last year?? This guy is universally recognized as one of the smartest men in music, do you honestly believe he was duped by false promises?? The NFL needed a black face to shepherd other negros back into viewership. They were methodically in their approach. By dealing with Jay and simultaneously shunning Colin, they're reaffirming their dominance while deceiving the foolish..Just like a pimp that beats his prostitute and wipes her tears away afterwards. THIS IS WHY OUR ADVANCEMENTS WILL FOREVER BE HINDERED.

If you follow him all he has been posting is shirts and a few positive messages. He can't really speak on anything after the settlement he received so he is silenced completely and thats why he actually lost and in the end he took a settlement. 🤷🏾‍♂️ its ugly

"Kaepernick won his first major victory in his grievance case last August when an NFL arbitrator ruled that he would allow Kaepernick’s grievance to proceed to an official trial phase. The trial was expected sometime this year, but the settlement announcement means that the case ends here" This is exactly what happened. Kap did take a settlement. If you've also noticed he hasn't spoken out like he's done in the past. Because of the NDA which he agreed to. No more bad mouthing the NFL specifically and he would in turn have to drop his grievance in order to be considered in playing in the NFL again.
