It seems like animators in Japan are struggling to keep their jobs, is what I gather from the two recent interviews published by TVPaint (Suezawa and this). It is all about cutting costs on the backs of artists, that are now paid for the hour and most certainly without any job benefits, while companies pay fortunes for licensed software.

Man I actually like to see this dude work on a ep of steven universe. He seems like a huge fan a has a lot of skill. He would enjoy is alot probably. Also he could get used to english and stuff. Though travel costs and working with cartoon network to make a steven universe episode seems not possible at the moment. I know about global communication and ish. But I really would love to see him work on a ep of steven universe.

This is late but if you didn’t see it he was an animator for the movie!!! He does know some English, if you follow his twitter (@ porigoshi)!!! at least i think its him posting English tweets, could be a friend translating? But!! He was responsible for arguably both of the most popular ones - Change and Other Friends!! He also did work on Steven Universe Future opening and OK KO!! He did amazing work!

ChroniJedi these hard working people work for more than 7-9 hours a day. Which means they dont have a lot of time to look after themselves...they dont get to sleep enough sometimes because they get to stay to 3 am and more, which also makes them lack physical energy.. there are a bunch of sad facts about an animators life unfortunately.. but it is fun ad heck tbh

I will work at a Japanese animation studio some day~ I went to Japan and studied japanese for 3 months when I was younger but gave up because I couldn’t get used to their lifestyle~ 5 years later, I feel I’m more mentally prepared and continue my path towards my goal :) these people may look tired but they have burning passion inside, which is why they sacrifice their own health which is not always good but I rather be unhealthy doing something I love than have a job I hate for 35 years and be unhealthy lol 😝

It would be difficult to get used to the "lifestyle" of working extremely long hours for meager wages in the Japanese anime industry.

Excuse me I have a question to ask about TVPaint, since its possible to bring hand drawings from paper on to the software, is it possible to make animations with those hand drawings?
@Gaiwen_Li6 жыл бұрын
BlueTrainer12 I mean you still have to draw it yourself
@jeanandre4023 Жыл бұрын
Yes. You create the animation in traditional fashion , drawing with pencil on paper (punched animation paper that fits over a registration peg system on the animation desk/light table), then scan the drawings , import into TVPaint. Adjust the exposure of each drawing as needed. You can also use the Scan Cleaning feature in TVPaint to clean the drawings so they may be digitally coloured in TVPaint.
@counterstrike89 Жыл бұрын
@@jeanandre4023 Is there a way to get the drawing into TV Paint faster, without scanning them, like snap a pic of the drawing, or maybe a book scanner that takes a pic?

I have tvpaint but I don't have time to draw at all because of time consuming. That's why I switched to 3D as a modeler and rigger.
