TVR Griffith 400 + Nives Arvetti OnBoard at Imola Circuit - 2023 Campionato Italiano Autostoriche

I enjoyed filming Nives Arvetti at the 2023 Italian Historic Car Championship race on the Imola circuit. The Italian Drift Girl is also trying her hand at this category, totally different from the drifting that has seen her as a protagonist for years aboard her BMWs. The car in which she competed for the first time on a previously untested track was shared with owner Claudio Conti. This is the fantastic 1965 TVR Griffith 400 managed and assisted by the guys from GTM Motorsport, whom I thank very much for their kindness and availability. Nives ran the second stint lasting around 30 minutes out of a total hour of competition in Sunday's race. The car, prepared for the track, equipped with a roll cage and all the necessary modifications to race, is powered by the big 289 Ford 4.7-litre V8 engine, which now develops 450hp and almost 700Nm of torque. The gearbox is ZF with close ratios. Enjoy! 😉
Ho avuto il piacere di filmare Nives Arvetti alla gara del Campionato Italiano Autostoriche 2023 sul circuito di Imola. La Drift Girl italiana si sta cimentando anche in questa categoria, totalmente differente dal drifting che la vede protagonista da anni a bordo delle sue BMW. L'auto con cui ha gareggiato per la prima volta su un tracciato mai provato precedentemente è stata condivisa con il proprietario Claudio Conti. Si tratta della fantastica TVR Griffith 400 del 1965 gestita ed assistita dai ragazzi di GTM Motorsport che ringrazio molto per la loro gentilezza e disponibilità. Nives ha disputato il secondo stint della durata di circa 30 minuti su un'ora totale di competizione nella gara di Domenica. La vettura, preparata per la pista, dotata di roll-bar e tutte le modifiche necessarie per correre è mossa dal grosso motore Ford V8 289 da 4.7-litri che ora sviluppa 450hp e quasi 700Nm di coppia. Il cambio è ZF con rapporti ravvicinati. Buona visione! 😉

Cool car. A Ford smallblock in that little thing has got to be a riot! It looks a bit like a mix between a Shelby Daytona Coupe and a 62 Ferrari 250 GTO, only KEI style. I bet it's a handful.

Very underrated car. Mark Halls was close to winning at Spa in one,a few years ago, the brakes gave out with one lap to go, they finished second or third?. If it's built to Appendix K spec. the weak point is the brakes, small solid discs on the front with drums at the rear.

Exactly, I see you know the car and the girl driver, Nives, just told me that. At one point in the race she had no more brakes and had to go around the track carefully. This is the weak point of the car. Unfortunately, no modifications can be made to the braking system, it must compete with the 1962 specifications.

@@Italiansupercarvideo Yes it does. Incidentally Appendix K means the spec must adher to what was run in period. Nigel Rubbin ( Hope I spelt his name correctly) is a walking encyclopedia on this model

From what I know, it was immediately built as a racing car but there is also a road version.

The girl driving the car was the first time she tried it and the first time on the Imola circuit. I spoke to her 2 days ago and she told me that she spent a day afterwards testing and preparing the car, especially the set-up for the next race. I think her feeling with the car will definitely improve, the more she drives it the more she gets to know it 👍

Il faut considérer que Nives pilotait cette voiture pour la première fois et la première fois sur le circuit d'Imola. La voiture est très puissante et la course a duré une heure, il était important d'acquérir de l'expérience et de ramener la voiture à la maison 😉

cette auto n est pas efficace en courbe rapide du fait de son faible empattement,loi physique ,pour etre efficace sur circuit il faut un equilibre entre la puissance et le chassis.Ancien technicien automobile,motoriste et metteur au point

This was the girl's first time driving this car and her first time on the Imola circuit. I know her, she is a drift driver but not a track car driver and she is learning to race these cars 😉
