I just got mine and here are some initial observations: - Big learning curve to use it - This radio is TINY, but seems well made -It truly is extremely sensitive Minor quibbles: -Kickstand on back is flimsy, and should either be made stronger or deleted -I prefer the amber display on most of the newer portables -USB-C port for charging would be nice Bottom line, a DXing champ

@@ditto1958 I agree with you on all of your minor quibbles. Thank you for the feedback. Have a good night.

I agree with your battery recommendation. I was able to fit in a Tecsun protected 18650, but they are a little wide (18.2 mm v. 18 mm), which made the battery door difficult to close. But, the 69 mm length worked OK. I even read one report of someone using a 70 mm battery with a built-in USB-C charging port. I think the safest choice is the 67 x 18 mm unprotected, though. And always buy quality 18650s like your XHDATA.

I love that the DX-286 has a very aggressive RF gain such that adjusting the volume control is scarcely ever necessary when scanning the bands. Michael, will you please demonstrate the memory preset functionality? One other thing; I like the battery type QODOSEN chose and that it is replaceable. Exhausted batteries can be swapped out in seconds! Opinion: QODOSEN has designed and produced a legendary radio in the DX-286 and is making it available at an astonishingly affordable price!

Excellent job with your video Mike Great looking little radio I wish they would have gone a little further and made it side band even if it cost a little more money have a great day😊

@jimsradiocheck936 Thank you Jim. Not having SSB isn't a deal breaker for me, but it would've been nice. I also wish it had gone to 29999 KHz so that I could also hear CB. Have a good evening and 73s.

I too, found the sound muddy from the first time I powered it on. Great radio, but I wish it had better sound quality. I sent mine back because of the sound quality compared to my Tecsun. 👍

I understand. Tecsun receivers usually have great audio quality. Have a good weekend.

@@Homer19521 Which model Tecsun do you have? The Qodosen is tiny, and they can’t fit a big speaker in it. Most Tecsun radios are larger. The DX-286 sounds pretty good for such a small package. If yours wasn’t clear, it may have been defective.

I ask him, the display always shows the time even when it is off?
@tvradio197221 күн бұрын
There is a way to turn off the display while the radio is on, but it will still show the display while the radio is off.

The DX-286 because it is a better all-around receiver. The TEF6686 is great for FM, but the other bands work better with an external antenna than the telescopic whip.
@KrissDucky952 ай бұрын
can be improved in FM nothing extrodinary
@tvradio19722 ай бұрын
If the antenna was longer, it would do even better on FM. Remember, the DX-286 antenna is 19" compared to 29" on the TEF6686.

this radio work in india?

I believe it does. There are different FM and AM settings to choose from, including changing the MW steps to 9 kHz.
