RXG abhi yaad nahi aaraha hai but ustime Shamurai, Shogun, RX100, Yazdi, RX135(4&5 gears both) Rajdoot, RXZ ka jamana tha. Humlog ek sath nikalte the. Rajdoot Yazdi fir bhi thoda heavier side pe tha. But main RX100 ride kadta tha. Papa ka tha wo. RX-Z dekhke sochta tha ki wo dream bike hai. Kya sporty feel aata tha. Fir to time aaya 4stroke ka. Splendor, LML Freedom, TVS Victor kadte rahe. Fir CBZ ka 2nd jo Star model aaya, fir Karizma, abhi R15 mai aagaye. But wo din kabhi na bhulenge. Ussme ek alag sa vibe thi. Jo abhi nahi milta hai. Full raw machines huya kadta tha. Wo awaz, high speed mai galat break dabane se skid kad jana, wo sab aab nahi hai. Aaj ka kids jo bike ride karte hai unme wo talent sayad nahi hai jo uss time ka kids ka tha. Well maintained Shogun is definitely a cracker to ride, highest revving 2stroke in the country. & with shaolin 5speed gearbox , expansion chamber & port work, bigger carburetor. It's needle touches the end of the speedometer. Powerband is so hard hitting, it can eat 250cc bikes for breakfast. Of course to maintain stability & safety. Bigger tyres, long swingarm & disc brakes needed.

Choke is on the left on the handle, what you showed as clutch is the fuel valve. It is not one down four up, it is all down. The switch on the right is the engine kill switch. This kind of misses are very offending to Shogun Owners and lovers like me.

Had this bike for many years and it was a real screamer overtaking the RX specially from a standing start .part of reason as to why it failed was ofcourse fuel efficiency and also some glitches in the earlier models e.g silencer etc which TVS could not service properly.Otherwise it was an excellent and reasonably powerful bike..(maybe the market had not learnt to appreciate the performance)

I learnt riding motorcycles on a good friend's brand new Suzuki Shogun way back in 1996 or 1997 at the age of 13 or 14 & fell in ❤ Love ❤ with motorcycles forever. Shogun's pick-up in every gear combined with the lovely sound of that 2 stroke engine always brought a big smile on my face everytime I rode it & it's 14 bhp power was more than enough for a 14 year me at that time. ❤ Unforgettable Memories ❤

My dad bought Suzuki Samurai in October 2000, we renewed it's permit twice now. Still running as dad's commuter in 2022 as well. ❤️ It is 98cc only, but such a smooth engine it has ❤️ It has the same tail lamp unit of Shogun and many parts including ORVM are shared. However, we have replaced the ORVM with round ones from RX100 (because Samurai has round headlamps and round shaped indicators), and we painted the rim and spokes in matte black, fork completely in silver with quality fork boots at the lower end (area below the number-plate clamp) and continued the silver treatment in handlebar as well. During the repaint time, we asked the painter whether we can have silver or golden color paints for the spokes, but he said it is impossible to paint the spokes and rim in different colours, else we have to buy new spokes. Being an OE rim and spokes, we felt it's not good to change them. We took inspiration from some Triumph models to get some of such design elements, which helped us to make our dad's bike a head-turner among many two-strokes in our locality.

Shogun was also the country's first & only motorcycle in the country to have black-chrome plating on the exhaust, front mudguard & handlebar. The stock factory exhaust also houses a specially designed baffle with a cone, which makes the entire system function like a small expansion chamber. The piston is from ART Japan, and was also plasma coated.

The shogun was no failure for its time. During its launch in April 1993, it did affect the sales of the legendary rx 100 to certain limit. The shogun was the first bike to come with a catayltic converter (1996 onwards)in India. The sales were good from 93 to 97. It was sold till 2000. It was the fastest motorcycle production when it launched. 14 bhp from 108cc mil is no joke. Its extremely large exhaust port begged the rider to ride it hard. It was like no machine in the market. TVS enjoyed about 20% market at the time. TVS Samurai was one of the largest selling in its portfolio. Shaolin was a failure but it the tvs racing guys took it to next level by pumping out about 32 hp from it. Shogun pumped about 24 hp on the track bikes. Shogun was also the champion of rallies. No rx even came close to snatch the title from it. Being ‘94 born, I havent lived the 90s but it sure hell was one of the most fun motorcycles to go in the Indian motorcycling history.

Pls. don't saw that it was a failure bike. RX ruled for years and then this bike came and posed a tough challenge to yamaha. They couldn't being out 14 BHP out of this 110cc engine. Excellent power to weight ratio in those days. Shogun could easily cross 100 kmph. It was the best looking motorcycle those days. I owned one. The main problem with this bike was stability at high speeds. The drum brakes were spongy. Turning at high speeds were a risky affair.

I had Shogun back in 2006. I sold my chetak and got this for college. Kind of Ajay Devgan bikes 🤣. And yeah we use to race with RXZ and 135 Rx.

Be it RX for Suzuki all two strokes are fantastic, just hear him laugh as he revs than engine, there's no match to that feeling. And yes Shogun was semi ported from the factory and actually used to produce much power for 110 CC engine, and was faster than the 100 and 135 (non factory ported), but the 5 speeds really changed the game, and then the two stroke era ended.
