Really good explanation, it helped a lot thank you. One suggestion is that since it is a long video, the time for each mode can be put in the description so that people can simply click and go to the mode they want to watch. For example: 10:00-15:00 : Course Lock 15:00-19:00 : Home Lock

Our sentiments exactly! LOL While we can't please everyone, we find comfort that we are able to provide quality training for the majority! If I were to put myself in a bystander's shoes, the only complaint I would have is that the app doesn't look the same. Well, people don't realize this video was created a year and a half ago. The Phantom 4, Mavic, or DJI Go 4 app hadn't been invented yet. The interface may be different, but the knowledge hasn't changed. Thank you for watching and we welcome the subscribe!

LOVE these tutorials guys - say - I can't find anything about "drawing a flight guide" and getting the drone to fly that pattern. Are there any tutorials on that?
@Tvspecialists
@Tvspecialists 8 жыл бұрын
+Ken Harrison CRS not certain if there are, but it's pretty simple. When looking at camera view, you'll see on the bottom left the Google map. Touch it, and the camera and map will swap places. On the left side, you'll see a symbol to draw a flight guide. Keep in mind, it's just a guide. It won't actually fly what you draw.

James, great tutorials, learnt a lot, thanks for that! One thing I still did not find out is the following: I plan to fly my Phantom 4 from a moving sailboat. I would like the drone to return to the moving sailboat by the push of a button. RTH would be the best option. However, is it possible to define "Home" as being a moving target? Could maybe the (permanently updated) GPS-position of the RC on the yacht be defined as "Home"? What other option would be best, e.g. "TapFly" plus manual steering for the final landing approach? Or stall the yacht and then redefine the "Home" position to the yacht's current position? What is your recommendation? Anybody?

Hi. I am new to drones and live in the UK. I have a P3A and use DJI go v 3.1.64. I was excited to see this video on intelligent flight modes and hoped to enable them on my P3A. I successfully updated the firmware to v 01.11.0020 on my P3A and handset. I then watched your instructional video again. Unfortunately none of the exciting new modes are appearing on my app and in fact your instructions don't match the menus I see. I can get into flight simulator mode in a slightly different manner to you but then there is no way of bringing up the intelligent flight modes after flicking the switch two clicks left away from P mode. Do you know if DJI have made intelligent flight modes in the UK.

Not much more to explain. They are maps that give you a bird's eye view of where your copter is at. There's not much instruction to give, but you can't draw (with your finger) a flight plan out, or set waypoints, on the map and have it fly that route. You can trace a "guide" to help you follow a particular path, but it's all manual. Or it can record the flight path you just flew. But mainly, it's just used as a reference.

Thank you very Informative , nicely explained I have a question: In Waypoints , can each waypoint be edited? Can you go to waypoint 1 and have it go to 35 feet for 25 seconds, then go to next waypoint and have it go to 40 ft. Then the next and so on. So different heights and stay times? Thanks
@Tvspecialists
@Tvspecialists 7 жыл бұрын
Not within the DJI Go App. Because DJI leaves their systems open to SDK, there are many 3rd party apps that are chucked full of more options available within the flight modes. Popular apps are Autopilot or DroneDeploy.

@jdaveca

Very informative video! I just ordered my Phantom 3 Advanced (supposed to be here sometime next week) and have been looking for educational videos. Yours is by far the best that I've seen! One question however on the Waypoint Flying. Can you set the Waypoints without actually flying them? In other words, can you set Waypoints "off-line" via your tablet / smart-phone and then have the Phantom fly the route, or do you have to actually fly the route and set them as you go? Many thanks!
@jdaveca
@jdaveca 8 жыл бұрын
Not with the DJI-GO app. Apparently you can do this with the Litchi app, however I haven't bought it as I'm a bit skittish about using a 3rd party app with my $1000 drone. There are lots of videos of people using it, and I'll probably get it and try it at some point as the Litchi app seems to have additional functionality that the DJI-GO app doesn't.
@Tvspecialists
@Tvspecialists 8 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, through the DJI Go app, there isn't a way to do waypoints without flying. However, there is an app that is full of awesomeness called, Autopilot. It's 3rd party, not DJI, but the programming, accuracy, and abilities it adds are essential for advanced users.

Very good video!!! Better than the DJI officials! A question: how the airplane manage the different altitudes in the waypoints mode? because I saw that registering different altitude waypoints cause "robotic" and vertical altitude modifications that seems that the plane is falling down or going to the moon... I've not understand the mechanism... Why is not fluid?
@Tvspecialists

That's just the limit of DJI's app. There are other 3rd party apps that can offer better waypoint flying options. Drone Deploy, or Autopilot are popular apps.

Great tutorial!! When I do way points of POI can i create a path I want the drone to fly and change altitudes automatically and have the drone remember that flight path? I am trying to take video of a building where one side of the building has tall trees so the drone must fly higher, and the back has no trees so the drone should fly lower, followed by the side with trees (drone higher) and the front with no trees (fly lower and then drone goes toward front entrance low. Thanks
@Tvspecialists
@Tvspecialists 7 жыл бұрын
Using the DJI Go app, you must physically fly the route and set the waypoints along the way. Yes, it will maintain the altitudes that you set per waypoint. And yes, it will remember the route as a "mission" you flew so that you can fly it again, and will allow you to save up to three missions. Thanks for watching, don't forget to subscribe!

got a question here! if I'm operation in the lock mode, and the drone is away from me with the head facing any position instead of me or home point. if the drone losses signal, and there are obstacles on the way, is the drone gonna cancel this mode or co to us on locked mode and head back to me with the head facing other direction but home or to me. will this increase chances of crashing or the drone to get confuse ?
@Tvspecialists
@Tvspecialists 7 жыл бұрын
The Phantom 4 has obstacle avoidance sensors that face front only. The Phantom 4 Pro has sensors that face the front and rear of craft.
@frankfromupstateny3796

Questions: (keep in mind: I'm a novice) 1) c/point of int,....does the drone recognize if it will crash within the arc or circle that's it's "told" to fly in...or just crash if something is in the way in altitude? 2) In follow me mode..."same question"...does the drone "know" by virtue of detectors if it may imminently crash...if following someone/thing? Ex.) "I'm in a corn field...then a walk into a forest with trees at ~70'..and the drone is flying at 40'....will it detect and increase in altitude of crash into the nearest tree?
@Tvspecialists
@Tvspecialists 7 жыл бұрын
1) the obstacle avoidance only detects what is directly in front of it. In POI it is rolling to its right or left, so no, it will crash into something on it's side. 2) in order for it to detect an object for 'active track,' it has to have clear line of sight. So in that situation, of a forest, it will lose recognition and just stop at the edge of the forest. Hypothetically, though, it would most likely just stop and not increase it's altitude to continue to follow anyways.

Hi! I have watched your videos and they are very instructive thanks for them! I have been trying to update my new Mavic pro for 3 times, but when I try to download the update it takes so long until the battery is completely discharged. I noticed that when the battery goes down after 50% to 30% it starts making noises and I try to turn off the control and the Macvi of the buttons, but it does not work to the point that I have to let it completely discharge the batteries .I think another reason which it takes a lot of time for the update is because when I turn on the Macvi and the control the internet signal in my house goes away for a while. Are you think that the Mavic has something to do with the Wi-fi in my house is gone? I appreciate any help!

TV Specialists, Inc Yup, will do. In this rotten winter weather, this appears to be my only option :) .

In POI mode.. does it work with a moving target? lets say circling a running boat. Is it possible?

Unfortunately the POI intelligent mode does not work with moving objects; including the Phantom 4 even though it has object recognition to follow, but not in POI. Your subject must remain stationary to circle around. We don't doubt, though, that DJI has already had these thoughts and is perhaps something they're developing.

For POI: If you HIDE the POI settings overlay, how would you get it back (re-display it)?
