I can't believe its taken near on 26 years for Cuthbert's Diary to surface online. There's quite a few interesting things about this. Like, for example, they decided to have Cuthbert speaking sentences of written words, and that they chose Cuthbert's actor, Richard Waites, to deliver them, when, up until Series 10 (when Richard took over this duty), Neil Buchanan had been the one dubbing for Cuthbert. It's also interesting that they made the decision to get Neil in and dub over the Dog and Hospital sketches, which are from Series 1 (the first series had no voice acting and was entirely comprised of stock music and sound), which was obviously meant to make it be in line with the other sketches shown. Does anybody know if this was a one-off episode for Goggle Watch, or were there more episodes aired as part of a miniseries?

I believe it was just a one off special as part of CITV's comedy week. It's also interesting to hear Richard's voice also I've always been curious to know what Cuthbert's voice would sound like if he was in the real world, making it the first and only time in Zzzap history to have actual spoken words thrown in by Richard Waites himself.

@@JamesVlogsHomeBeyondThis version of Cuthbert's voice, done by Richard, is much closer to his own speaking voice than the voice Richard provided for him in Series 10, and I prefer this version more and would've loved to see a whole series with that as the basis of Cuthbert's voice. If you watch an episode of "Spin Off", Motormouth's parody Soap Opera, Richard has a lot of speaking lines in that.
