Because of Jaejoong, SM eventually scouted Taeyong and Sungchan for kinda having similar looks as he does. Bless him for being one of SM’s favorite faces because we got to see more variations of him afterwards. Also, this song perfectly embodies SM’s own little genre back in the late 90s up to early 10s called SMP (SM Performance,) which had the loud music, the crazy sounds, the deep lyrics criticizing society, etc. Other examples are H.O.T’s I-yah, TVXQ’s O-Jung.Ban.Hap, TVXQ/BoA/TRAX’s Tri-Angle, Super Junior’s Don’t Don, and EXO’s MAMA. And yup, my years as a Cassiopeia prepared me well to be a Czennie with all the glorious noise that 127 puts out.

As you noticed, Jaejoong Hero was not dancing, but rather there was someone wearing a mask instead of him, because at that time he suffered an injury to his knee that required him to be carried and undergo surgery, and he even spent a while walking on crutches.

In retrospect, I understand why everything went the way it did. I am an EXOL for life for sure. BUT, one thing is certain... had TVXQ stayed 5, they'd have ruled the kpop world and set such an early standard... these 5 were absolute perfection. World class 100%, no question

the poetic and somewhat contemporary lyrics paired with aggressive vocals and genre-switching is def an early SM/kpop thing. i know there are a few h.o.t songs that touch on serious topics, like "i yah!" (released in '99) which laments the treatment of children in SK after a tragic incident where 23 kindergartners' lives were lost due to the negligence of adults. other tvxq title tracks that are similar to rising sun are tri-angle and o-jung.ban.hap!!

Finally!! I’ve been waiting for you to experience it in its full glory and when the video is over 25 minutes long you know it’s had an impact. I also know I’ve recommended this quite a lot but now you’ve seen Rising Sun you have to watch Tri-Angle which is tvxq’s song with trax and boa and is this kind of vibe but cranked up tenfold. "Rising Sun" came out in 2005, about a month before Super Junior debuted with their song "Twins (Knock Out)" -- this song makes a lot more sense when you consider what SM's other groups, and Kpop groups in general, were doing around this time -- the hard rock, grunge vibe was just the style of music that SM and the Kpop industry was playing around with back then, the whole song, MV and style was very on trend. Yes, TVXQ was formed during the era when SM thought all the members needed stage names that were used alongside their real names*. Therefore, the members of TVXQ are named: Jaejoong/Hero, Yunho/U-Know, Yoochun/Micky, Junsu/Xia and Changmin/Max. (Yunho/U-Know and Changmin/Max as members of TVXQ still use their stage names along with their real names; and Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu/Xia became JYJ. Junsu continues to go by the stage name Xia as a solo artist and as a member of JX.) *SM rock band TRAX, which debuted in 2004, also had crazy stage names when they first debuted: Typhoon Jay (vocals), Rose Minwoo (drums, percussion), Attack Jungwoo (bass guitar), and Xmas Jungmo (guitar, bass guitar). But over the years as members left and they rebranded themselves several times, they dropped the use of their stage names. "Rising Sun" is a classic and a lot of artists and groups have covered the song over the years. Plus, it's used in a lot of things, so you'll probably start to notice it being used in things you watch. And it's one of those songs that defines who TVXQ are, so when people talk about them or they perform anywhere they usually play this song. Cassiopeiatiny! I love how you were left almost speechless 😂 it’s not exactly a common occurrence on this channel. This song goes so hard! And is so weird in that very sm way. Before mirotic rising sun was THE tvxq song. And yes it’s Hero Jaejoong, just like Max Changmin or U-know Yunho. They all had two part stage names. Jaejoong's name has a really funny story too, Junsu and daesung talked about it on zip daesung 😂 Jaejoong btw is known as “SM's first love” and you can definitely see the influence his looks had on sm's visual ideals. Changmin looks young because he is young, seventeen if I remember correctly, the song is from 2005 so if my maths are mathing then he should be around that age. The bowl cut does not help the baby face at all. But compared to many of their other mvs the styling in this isn’t bad, even if Jaejoong looks like every jpop idol my friend was in love with in 2012 with that feathery hair. Something funny I just realized. Max singing on the rooftop is the same place Siwon was singing during Miracle 😂 and then Both TVXQ dance break stage and the Miracle stage at the end of the MV are also the same place hahaha 🤣 and I find it so funny because Rising Sun and Miracle are on 2 completely ends of a spectrum 🤣🤣.
