This was the first music I heard that this man performed. Just love it, I have bought everything he recorded. It is strange how you can miss a person you never knew before they died.

So sad Townes is gone, a true artist, one of the greats. I miss him dearly.

This may be my favorite Townes recording. It is later so it has some later songs, the singing and musicianship is really good and I like the two guitars plus a fiddle arrangement. His live work could be spotty, especially later in his career.

I started listening to Townes because the Cowboy Junkies covered "To Live is to Fly". The man was a lyrical genius.

I saw Steve Earl cover "Pancho and Lefty" (Jammin at Hippie Jack's) like 15 yrs ago. Been here ever since 🫡

Why is the steering wheel on the right???
@joelwoodard7864 Жыл бұрын
For the same reason you’re listening to this, I’m going to assume you’re either old enough to remember or an old enough soul to appreciate it but it’s the film… If you look at it for a second, it’s simply playing a trick on the eye. Or maybe he’s just a world traveler with a penchant for Leo D’s style of reversed English. 🤷♂️ 😉

You do realize that there is a World outside of the US? The steering wheel is on the right in a lot of European countries

Townes travelled outside of the United States, including Australia, where the steering wheel is on the right.

Fell in love with his music in the early 90s. My first exposure was Live at the Old Quarter and Rear View Mirror. He's been the top of my favorites ever since.
