It's ironic that Hashut is probably some high ranking demon under Khorne and at the same time gives such cool toys and extremely powerful magic (even if it causes petrification, but whatever) to his worshipers o vs others who are under the chaos gods.

Cause of the petrification has more to do with how dwarves (their bodies) react to the raw stuff of chaos.

The excellent thing about it is the factions are exclusively compatible. You can do a campaign with only empire- low Renaissance fantasy. In fact you can add the dwarves and orks and keep the late medieval vibe. Or you can do bretonia and woodelves instead and keep it Arthurian. Each of these factions canonically can exist and war with little need of the others to make it believable. You can do colonial to proto industrial Era with chaos dwarves, skaven and the rest. Warhammer was always about making your own battles and armies- and provides the lore framework to justify different levels of weapon advancement. The story of the empire can exist with industrial chaos dwarves eternally locked in internal conflict with chaos and the mountains as do the skaven and their greedy nature. It is a very dynamic setting and game world. During our own history did American coal belching steamers not force a Samurai heavy Japan to reopen to the world? Were Chinese citadels not rendered to rubble by Mongols siege and explosive experts? Were the great walls of sword and shield Constantinople not succumbed to Ottoman great cannons? Yet while all this took place Polish winged lancers ran down pagan tribes (akin to the beastmen) with little awareness. Indian princes waged great wars with elaborate weapons and war elephants with one another. The Aztecs sacrificed hundreds to God's of death to send fur clad warriors to conquer the Maya. All this occurring at the same time with each faction believing themselves thee peak of civilization and no knowledge of the other. Warhammer is fun- enjoy it

You can use the millenium warfare mod. Or even the mod that gives more guns to Dawi, it's from same creator as Hashut's guns mod.
