I installed this kit with the recommended 125 jet and added a new spark plug as well to see the color change (stock jetting the plug remained white after 14k). With the 125 jet the plug also remained white after > 500 miles. I replaced the 125 with the 130 and noticed the idle immediately came down and sounded healthier. After 100ish miles the plug is now a perfect light brown. I only run ethanol free fuel.

Yamaha doesn't use Phillips head screws, they use JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard). They look similar, but they are different. Using a Phillips driver often cams out and damages the heads of this JIS hardware. Use the driver from the onboard toolkit, or get a JIS2 driver or bit to properly tackle jobs on the TW200. Always appreciate ProCycle's support for the TW!

That is solid advice, anyone that has a Japanese manufactured motorcycle should have some JIS bits in their tool box. Thank you!

Really curious how this kit compares to the dynojet kit. I see you sell both and I am very interested, as I think it will really give a stock TW the extra bit of OOMF that it needs. Do you have any insight on the difference between the two jetting kits? Dynojet loves to claim power increases but I'm assuming the procycle kit would be similar?

Double check your timing after installing the big bore kit. If all is good there, you may need to richen the pilot jet.

Great video! My problem (2010 TW200) is that the screws on the float chamber won't budge, even using the JIS screwdriver from the toolkit. I'm going to end up stripping the screwheads if I force it. Any suggestions please? Edit: (Actually I found my own solution - I used vice-grips [mole-grips in UK english) with great care to get them out, slightly damaged them but not too bad).
@TeamProCycle
@TeamProCycle Жыл бұрын
Oh no! We're glad that you were able to get the screws out. I've found that it's always handy to have an impact screwdriver around for cases like this. Usually, one or two thwacks of a hammer and they are loose. Vice-grips are another good must-have for stuck screws.

Is it not necessary to drill out the pilot adjustment screw brass cover and turn it out to 2 turns out?
@TeamProCycle
@TeamProCycle 6 ай бұрын
It is not necessary, but if you feel your bike needs to be adjusted then drill and turn. Be mindful of the screw immediately behind the plug when drilling.

Do you have a recommendation for how many turns out the fuel screw should be when using this kit? Thx.
@TeamProCycle
@TeamProCycle 10 ай бұрын
Start at 1.5 turns out. Turn it in & out a little at a time to find which direction makes the bike run better. If you need to go more than 3 turns out, you may need to try a different jet. Same goes for turning it too far in. Good luck and if you need help give us a call or shoot us a text. 541-688-9543

Are any of the main jets in the kit about equivalent to the stock #126? I have the k&n air filter and dg v2, same recommendation as stated in the kit? Thanks
@TeamProCycle
@TeamProCycle Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment and yes, there are stock equivalent jets in our kit. Whether you're going back to stock or riding at higher elevation you should be set. With those two mods on your TW, we recommend following what our jet kit suggests in the instructions.

My carb didnt have a little spring @ the needle
@TeamProCycle
@TeamProCycle 9 ай бұрын
If your carb is off a 200 or newer TW200, you can purchase the replacement spring for $6 from Yamaha. I do not believe any performance gains would be noticed by having it in the the carb. However, the manufacturer found a reason to put it there and so it probably should be for long term reliability. If you need help getting the spring, give us a call and we will be glad to help you out.

So is this basically a TW200 channel? I honestly don't understand all these videos on a TW200. I guarantee videos on DR650s would be exponentially more popular as well as several other models. Just my two cents
@TeamProCycle
@TeamProCycle Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. For now, a good majority of our content will be TW200 related as we are really trying to drive more attention to the parts, we are adding to our website for this bike specifically to help the T-Dub community. We are a small business (10 employees) and we all wear many hats here at ProCycle, this limits the amount of content we can produce in a given time, and that's partially why it looks like a TW200 channel at the moment. I promise that alongside the TW videos more and different content will be soon to follow. Especially, DR650 and Tenere 700 content.

Dude,next spring try and buy a brand new Tw200.Good luck You obviously have no idea how popular these bikes are now. They sell before they even hit the floor at the dealers.I’m sure they don’t make a million but trust me they are had to get and the used ones sell for new prices. One of the best little bikes ever and my other is a CBR954 that don’t really get ridden much now

Why did you use the 125 main jet?
@TeamProCycle
@TeamProCycle Жыл бұрын
We went with the 125 main as that is the larger main jet we wanted to go with over stock while running the DG RST muffler. The RST is a little more corked up than say the DG V2 muffler. There is a misconception in the industry that jet numbers are based off of an industry standard and that just isn't true. One manufacturer's 125 main could be another's 127 main jet, then you throw in different needle tapers, and you really start getting different main jet suggestions. When we created our kit, we found this needle and jet combo to be the best starting point for the TW200.
