1. All core combat technology is from the U.S. government and U.S. military contractors. 2. The Taiwanese government has signed an exclusive agreement with the USA, which prohibits Taiwan from exporting or selling any domestically-produced jets (which actually only have 40% local content) to other places and countries. 3. Furthermore, the South Korean KAI T-50 Golden Eagle and the Italian M346 have dominated the markets for more than 15 years. Taiwan has no value and no capability to penetrate the international market at all.

@@user-ww8te6ij9r 1.The poor commercial engine used in the training jet is not capable of performing any combat task assignments. 2.The owner of the U.S. TFE1042 engine is Honeywell, not Taiwan, for the international edition. For the export edition of the M346 powered by the TFE1042, it is managed directly by Honeywell USA instead of Taiwan. 3.Taiwan can only use the "TFE1042" engine through "International Turbine Engine Company LLC, ITEC" for domestic consumption within Taiwan. The number of engines that can be deployed in Taiwan's IDF and T-5BE aircraft is tightly controlled by U.S. government contracts against Taiwan. 4. Regarding the "premium" of the TFE1042 engine that Taiwan can share, do not think it is too much, as Taiwan gets zero from it. Honeywell is an international business entity. The TFE1042 engine is owned by Honeywell itself and is well-controlled by its international business department, not by Taiwan at all. **Taiwan claimed to have developed its own Indigenous Defense Fighter (IDF) aircraft. However, after the year 2000, the U.S. government shut down all the production lines for this aircraft on the island of Taiwan, and Taiwan is no longer able to resume production. After the completion of the 66 T-5BE units, the production line will be shut down by the U.S. government as soon as possible on the island of Taiwan, too. Indigenous Defense Fighter (IDF) : Lockheed Martin helped design and produce Taiwan’s first and only fly-by-wire advanced fighter. Until now, Taiwan has had to purchase the core parts for its Indigenous Defense Fighter (IDF) aircraft from the U.S. government and its contractors, as Taiwan does not have the capabilities to produce them. WASHINGTON, December 6, 2022 - The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States of the expansion of the Cooperative Logistics Supply Support Arrangement for stock replenishment supply of aircraft standard spare parts and related equipment for an estimated cost of $330 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale today. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States (TECRO) has requested to buy the expansion of the Cooperative Logistics Supply Support Arrangement for stock replenishment supply of standard spare parts, consumables, and accessories, and repair and replacement support for the F-16, C-130, Indigenous Defense Fighter (IDF), and all other aircraft and systems or subsystems of U.S. origin, as well as other related elements of logistics and program support. The estimated total cost is $330 million.
AIDC T-5 Brave Eagle - 40% Taiwan local content with poor commercial engine back to year 1980s. Target for Taiwan domestic usage only without Export permit to 3rd places and countries as regulated by US Government. Only allowed to produce 66x unit - AIDC T-5 Brave Eagle as exclusive contracts signed and approved by US Government.
