Next time undo the hex bolt from the filter housing to drain the oil out of the housing. Less of a mess that way.

I really enjoyed your RS7 oil change video. I just bought a new 2024 RS7 performance two weeks ago, but I don’t want to go 10K miles on Audis recommended oil changes with two turbochargers, and plan to change it every 5K instead. I will do it every other time and Audi can do their recommended changes. Thanks so much

Great content as always . I switched from Mobil one to Liqui Moly for my wife’s Audi Q7 and I’m glad I did. Mobil One Is great , but in my personal opinion Liqui Moly is perfect . The car runs smooth and i don’t see the 1/4 of a quarter oil consumption every 6k miles , that I did before switching . Now it might not be the oil itself , but it did make a difference when I switched.

No dipstick is a pain alright. It does tell you if you’ve overfilled. After my last service on my A6 a few weeks ago I had to drain about a quarter litre from it to get it right. Those proprietary fittings on the bolts are called “triple squares”. You’d probably get a set handy on Amazon.

You didn’t show it but probably did it, but open oil fill cap before draining, and you can drain out the oil filter housing with the small drain plug to avoid so much oil staying in the housing and making that big a mess.

When you look to the right side of the engine there is an orange looking plastic plug you can pull it out & replace it with a dip stick from a dealer. That is where they suck out the oil with a vacuum pump at the dealer. I found the part # online. Bought dipstick and dealer & it gives me accurate reading matching with what the computer says. Go online & do some research on it

Great video. Thank you for it. I have a 2014 RS7 50k on it and I just bought it a few months ago. My question is how do you reset the computer to clear out the service due display? Can a car owner do it their self or does it have to go to the dealership? I know it saves money when you DIY, but if I have to have the service due reset by the dealership then I might as well take it to them to just do the service.
@fldoberman3 жыл бұрын
Just FYI not my 1st Audi. I’ve had 2-A5’s and an S5. But in past experiences I took my A5 to Volkswagen to have in serviced and after they returned it to me the service due was still displayed on the dash. I asked them to please clear the display and they said they couldn’t, I’d need to take it to the Audi dealership. Hence I never went there again. Since then I’ve just always went to the Audi dealership, always pricey doing so, but after watching your video the oil change does not look difficult at all. You made it look very easy. Thank you.

I appreciate some of what you’re showing here. But honest question…why would you make a video (assuming from authority) if you’ve never done this service before?! There are a few parts that are not good advice. The 6mm hex on the filter cartridge is the second drain plug. That must be opened to drain the filter. Then you don’t get the overflow mess. The “proprietary” bit for the cover is called a triple square or xzn bit. Most German cars use those. So, I am asking, do your videos just show you doing service for the first time? Or are you experienced with these very high-end cars?

This isnt personal towards the video maker, his just doing a how to video, however, this quarts measurement to me is so bizzare. to measure sumthing that is a quarter of some unknown unit, to watchers of the video, turns out to be a Quart of a gallon. and then to say its 9 time the quarter of 1 gallon, who or why measures anything so backwards like that man. and the fact that fluid ounces is different to non fluid ounces. and to say 9 quarters of X number. how does that even make sense. initially after Googling I got more confused, I thought, surely it cant not make that much sense, but no, its true, there is no logic. its 8 literes or 9 litres, which isnt aquarter or a 3rd of a measurement. see how simple, done.
