As you know the paint on the nbs trucks is junk when they get some age on them. The roof and hoods plus the top of the fenders usually go first. If you are trying to fix or buff your nbs silverado or nbs sierra, tahoe or yukon, you need this buffer. In this video I show you how I paint correct or polish on an older truck. I love this new rupes polisher. It is so smooth. While we can't get the paint back to new, we definitely made it look presentable again. If you like to watch the before and after or satisfaction videos, this is it. I love to see paint change with a little work. I tried a couple different polishing and cutting pads as well as several different compounds. Huge difference in the paint after. If you are wanting to make your silverado or sierra paint look good this is a must watch video. OCD people like myself that are into cars can really appreciate the satisfaction that comes from buffing or polishing old paint. I am trying to keep up with AMMO NYC. Let me know what compounds work best for you and old paint. Hit the Comments and let me know what you think.......

Definitely worth the effort, even if you end up repainting. One tip, use some compressed air and blow out the pad between passes. That way you clean our the dead paint and anything else you picked up before going back down on the paint. Plus, the pad will cut better when it's cleaner.

Just ran across this video. As a professional detailer for about 20yrs, water is fine with the paint quality you are working on now....however, on paint that is fairly nice please do not use just water! Soap is honestly what I use in any situation for clay baring. detail spray is not good to use either, because most detail sprays have sealants, waxes or protectants in them so it makes polishing harder. Nice job though brother! You are using the best pads & polishes as well. That's all ive used. M105 and all that does not come in my shop anymore LOL. PRO TIP> Iron remover is nice to use as a claybar lube as well. 😉, also, BIG pro tip, with paint as heavy oxidized as you have here, blow out your pad with compressed are after every time you get done polished before you polish another area. if you dont all your doing is spreading all the dead paint you just buffed off, back on to the paint somewhere else and working against yourself, not so much for efficiency, but for better results. But dude you did a great job!! it looks WAAAY better!

That looks a lot better, but black is a different animal for sure! No matter how nice the paint is it’s hard to get black perfect. I had probably the nicest 02 rcsb Silverado in black and it just wore me out keeping it looking good so I sold it. Now I’m looking for a another in any color but black or dark blue! Thanks for sharing another informative video!

I grew up in my dad’s body shop. The buffer we used was a huge pneumatic with wool pads. You are exactly right, it would burn through the paint if you stayed in one place too long. Been there done that!

great work, i have a tip for you. after each pass blow out your pad with compressed air. that will remove the build up in the bad and reduce dusting and give you a better cut. use your microfiber or wool pad first with the compound then follow up with a foam polish pad and polish. i have a 03 rcsb z71 sierra also black. i preformed a 50 hour paint correction on mine and people think the truck was repainted. i added a full center console into mine and wanting to go back to the jump seat, i miss the extra space. if you know of anyone having one for trade or for sell let me know!

So i heard u mention u use a Griots polisher. Have u looked into their compounds an polishes? We started using them where i work an i gotta say I’m very impressed. It’s there BOSS lineup. Best of show series is what it stands for, but anyways they have a 3 step compound an polish. 1st step is a orange label 2nd step is a yellow label Then finish off with a black pad an black label bottle. An the pads are the same color as the bottle label. Orange yellow an black. Also have a microfiber pad and white pad if u need a more aggressive cut. Makes the paint shine an brings an amazing depth to it.

And just what i needed to see since im going to be restoring the paint of my late father's tahoe but ill be using meguiar's ultimate line. And maybe my ls400 could use some TLC too.
