The acting in this scene is phenomenal. Jon Bernthal's crazed look and movements really show a man on edge and shock during his death. And Andrew Lincoln ...wow. You can tell he dug down into something primal for this. You feel his conflicting feelings and that moment of resolve right before he does what he needs to. And the aftermath, its so emotional on a primal level. "This was YOU, YOU DID THIS, NOT ME ...not me" the feeling in this, the emotions show a a man so conflicted. He isn't just saying that to Shane, he's saying that to himself, telling himself there was no other choice. And those movements, sobbing and wails of agony at the end. The pain and torment is visceral and real. You feel like you're really seeing the anguish and devastation of a man who just killed someone he loved dearly. If it isn't already, this should be studied in acting classes. This is a master class in acting right here. Kudos to the both of them. These guys can act.

In a way this was like Shane's final test for Rick. 'Will you do whatever it takes to survive, For Them?' And surely in his last moments Shane was glad Rick passed it. Absolutely loved this cause of how Emotion-Impacted, Characterised and Realistic it is. Reason why it’s because I absolutely Loved Andrew Lincoln’s Acting in this Scene with the Emotion cause it puts himself really well into the Scene so quick and it actually looks so Realistic cause it makes it look like Rick is actually Crying his eyes wishing he had another option to where he didn’t Kill his Best-Friend/Blood-Brother and also it was Gut-Wrenching cause I Cried over Shane Dying as much as he deserved a million in one for what he has been doing all through out Season 2’s Events you got to feel bad not just for Rick but for Shane cause he could of been a more better person than a Psychopathic-Individual and seeing Rick Crying his eyes out doesn’t help cause it makes it work and well-up Emotions for anyone who’s Watching this Scene and how Characterised it is is well it just gets suited for each other Character and for each Actor as I said going back a bit in this Comment and that Violin shows a lot more for the Emotional-Elements to how Sad this Scene is. Minor note it was happy is well kind off cause when we hear from Ghost Shane when Rick is Hallucinating in Season 9 he said that he took a page out of his Life but he said it in a good way cause he knows that Rick will follow his Philosophy of his ways of thinking but using the rig he way not wrong cause that was the terrible thing about Shane his Philosophy was right it just was being used for the wrong shit and he kept mixing shit up and believing it even if it wasn’t true but I’m glad Shane was impressed with him when he saw him again for that Scene not just showing the Split-Rick we see him till this day but also Rick was wanting to look for a different-option telling by the looks on his face when he is crying but yet he stood strong and put on the bravest face he can before Carl showed up cause he knew he be alright and Shane can be set free and be up there without causing any harm and using his Philosophy for good for this time like Rick is doing.

You can see that right when Shane said "we tried to kill each other man, you think we're gonna forget about it?" Rick made the desition of killing him, he probably was thinking about it since the crossroads talk in "18 Miles Out" but right there is when he decided to not back down, he, just like with Randall, didn't want to do it but that's what made a click in his mind, that's where he realized that there was no other outcome for that problem than Shane or him dead, and just as he said in 18 miles out: "to keep Lori and Carl safe I would do anything" even taking the life of his best friend
