In a sense, this is the best time to organize research into any way they can counteract the dead, or learn whatever deep science they can apply to the scenario. This might be the last generation of survivors who have serious scientific training - and who can devote the necessary time to it instead of just subsisting and trying to merely find food and safety. If there IS a technological solution - or even just something helpful - to be discovered, then the window during which you have qualified scientists and semi-functional labs and lab supplies is closing fast. In 20 years, your only option is pointy sticks and rocks and swords.

Great reaction GW. I was hoping you would have recognised the zombified test subject at the end there with the red beard who was once a colleague to Dr Leo Bennett (Hope & Iris's father) and Dr Lyla Belshaw (his girlfriend), who they've used to seduce him and ensure his loyalty - they made sure to show all of them in a photo in Season 1.
