One thing I think is really underappreciated about Troy's videos is his commentary. He's always saying exactly what his thought process is, what's going on around him, and what he's about to do, but he says it simply enough that even a beginner can usually understand what he's saying.

Now that Troy is bringing back a hint of CT content (or, at least retro CTs - a CT main such as myself can dream though 😭😭), I really really hope he brings back Troy vs. Custom Track. It's one of my favorite series on the channel, and there are so many tracks that would make great content, from new retros (the new GBA Boo Lake; the new Music Park; once the GCN Bowser Castle update comes out later this month, that) to original design custom tracks (Banished Keep; Kamek's Library; Thump Bump; literally so many others). It upsets me that Troy, who used to play so many CTs in Race to 9999 and Road to 9999, has shut them out of his channel almost completely because of the few bad apples like Peaks or Six King or MoM, since on the whole CTs nowadays are absolutely incredible, and there's so much less jankness and BS on most CTs than there was five years ago. I know it's probably not going to happen anytime soon, but the more time Troy doesn't play custom tracks, the less likely it will be for him to ever re-enter that content sphere due to the learning curve. He didn't even do a video for the most recent CT update, which was really upsetting. For the outsize impact that CTs have on the community, and especially with more RT content on the channel than ever due to the end of FlounderFest, I hope that Troy considers bringing back some CT content, if only slowly.

@@MayroSMM omg 100%! Troy has explicitly said that he doesn’t play cts because people troll him with shit picks like peaks and six king, and it completely hurts the CT community. As a both casual and comp CT community who has spent way too long waiting for CT mogis to fill or in small ctww rooms, we could use the influence of creators like Troy so much (not to mention he could do a lot of what you try to do with promoting smaller creators), but I don’t blame Troy for being as frustrated with CTs as he is. I do hope he returns to CT content though, at least with some troy vs. CT. Thanks for the reply btw, I love your content so much and what you’ve done for the CT community is absolutely incredible. :))

Hey Troy, Just wanted to share: I've had a wii since my sister and I were little kids. I had a friend at primary school whose dad knew how to 'hack' a wii so he went on and did that for us so we would be able to play dozens of games through usb loader. I know I know, probably shouldnt talk about that but the games were crazy expensive back then, and I barely had any money :p. Anyway, not too long after we got it I discovered your channel, I was instantly hooked and watched every video you ever uploaded :p Obviously I wanted to try out ctgp for myself but i couldnt since I didnt had an actual disk of the game. Major bummer but at least you kept uploading, so still SOME ctgp for me haha. My wii broke after a couple of years and that was the end of it. Recently however I've been talking with friends about getting a wii. One of them has a switch and we always have a blast playing. Still, we missed the old wii sometimes, I most definitely did. Yesterday I finally gave in and decided to buy a second hand wii from a stranger, along with mkwii. That means I will have a working wii again and an actual mkwii disk and will be able to get ctgp! I've been so excited about it the past day, now im just wondering why I didnt buy a wii earlier these past years. Can't wait for it to arrive and start playing mkwii online again! Thanx for all your videos over the years, this game never disappoints :D

The competition was better than usual, zilla definitely contributes to make these tournaments interesting, and police will always have my heart even though karts are less competitive in 150cc Troy made more mistakes than usual, and I blame it on the pressure of such a competitive room. And I love how even the tiniest mistakes cost him 3 positions like hitting the off-road after the shortcut in GCN mario circuit

Hey Troy! Love the new series btw ^^ just wanted to ask the reasoning behind moving from 10pts to 15pts for the bonus threshold? I think it's a really good way to make them more of a rate commodity so I love it for that, but in the finals it means that if you're going in on a level number of bonuses each, whoever wins the first race is stacked to win the next and the next, hear me out! 😮 Previously, if you're struggling in the finals and get second place twice, you'll have got 7pts twice in a row at which point you'll be at 14pts, so you'll have gained a bonus item to help you along your way (almost like sympathy masks in crash bandicoot!). However, when you're on the new rules, you only get a bonus after 3 losses at finals level, so you're likely to fall even further behind the person who's coming first and getting a bonus every win :s Just some food for thought, keep up with the new format as it's working really well :')

Something you brought up a bit in GP1 and GP2 was the idea that people were targeting you because you had low points. Not that I'm competitive enough to metagame like that, but it seems to me they're just going for you because you're ahead of them. Do players have time to say "Oh, that's (Troy, Police, Empex, etc)! Better target them!" instead of just "I'm in 6th, let's take out 5th!"?
