How To Enable 5GHz Wi Fi On Laptop | Change Wi-Fi Band From 2.4GHz to 5GHz

My laptop is equiped to accept 2.4 and 5GHz. The only step that was not available was selecting the automatic 5GHz. I was able to follow all the other steps. Unfortunately, after updating driver and selecting 5GHz vslue I'm still having trouble connecting to the internet using an ethernet cable.

Actually helped a lot thanks, for some reason my laptop automatically connected to 2.4G of my Wifi but with this I'm now on 5G

My problem was that my router had 2.4g and 5g had the same router. So once you are far than 20 meters it will automatically connect to 2.4, if you are less than it, you will be connected to 5g. But even though my laptop is literally beside the router it still connects to the 2.4g network. It was slow asf. Thank god you showed how to select preferred network it saved my slow ass Internet. Thank you❤

The fact that the computer isn't set up to take 5GHz in preference to 2,4 automatically is kind of ridiculous, thx for fixing my ridiculously low internet wifi speed.

I'am trying to make a hot spot out of windows 10 22h2 laptop. problem i'am having is laptop only option is a 5g network and the laptops that i want to connect seem to be stuck on 2.4. . The laptop that I'm trying to use as a hotspot has all the security software that my ISP has provided me and with that I'm hoping to be able to Shield them while I get updates on the other two laptops that are stuck at 2. 4.
