Hello everyone!
Today, we're improving on a bunch of things and we'll have to install our first aquatuner. Hope you enjoy!:)
Oxygen Not Included is a space-colony simulation game. Deep inside an alien space rock your industrious crew will need to master science, overcome strange new lifeforms, and harness incredible space tech to survive, and possibly, thrive.

In Oxygen Not Included you’ll find that scarcities of oxygen, warmth and sustenance are constant threats to your colony's survival. Guide colonists through the perils of subterranean asteroid living and watch as their population grows until they're not simply surviving, but thriving...
Just make sure you don't forget to breathe.
Build Extensive Bases and Discover What it Takes to Survive:
Everything in your space colony is under your control, from excavation and resource allocation right down to plumbing and power systems. Resources will begin depleting with your first breath, however, so be sure to dig fast if you want to live.
It’s Mind Over Matter with Stress Simulations:
Keep the psychological impact of survival at bay with fun leisure activities, great accommodations and even better food for your colony. Duplicants each have different and potentially destructive ways of reacting to stress, so be sure to always keep them happy. Whatever the cost.
Avoid Boiling with Thermodynamics:
Temperature control is a constant concern in space; too cold and you'll freeze, too hot and you'll fry. Keep tabs on ambient environmental temperatures and your colony's heat production to maintain a nice, cozy atmosphere for your colonists.
Enhance Efficiency through Complex Gas and Liquid Simulations:
Create interlocking pipe systems to swiftly deliver fuel and liquid to critical areas of your base. Plan well and be rewarded as your colony transforms into an imperishable, well-oiled machine.
Take Charge with Power Grid Simulations:
Choose from a multitude of power sources including coal, hydrogen, natural gas or just plain old elbow grease. Manage power runoff, circuit overloads and meltdowns to keep your colony running smoothly.
Always Keep Yourself Breathing:
Enter the Oxygen Overlay and watch air moving through your base in real-time. Monitor carbon dioxide accumulation and oversee oxygen generation processes to mold your colony into a veritable deep-space oasis.
Waste Nothing through Extreme Recycling:
Make use of every last resource for a base that truly exemplifies efficiency. Recycle waste into precious fuel, process unbreathable gas into air, or harness the natural bodily processes of wild creatures for food. If you’re clever, you might even be able to run a base off colonist farts.
Explore Diverse, Procedurally Generated New Worlds:
Summon new worlds with a push of a button. Experience tons of untamed space rocks, then suffocate to death in them!
-------------------
Spaced Out DLC:
The Duplicants are back again, and this time they're ready to rebuild their colonies from the mysterious remains of a planet torn asunder!
In Oxygen Not Included: Spaced Out! you'll spearhead space missions to new and undiscovered Planetoids, transport resources between bases, and manage multiple worlds on the fly to build a megacolony that not only survives but hopefully, thrives.
New Multi-World Gameplay
Put your colony management skills to the test by juggling the needs of Duplicants in multiple colonies simultaneously. Switch between planets in real-time and secure rare resources on other worlds to supply your home base.
Expanded Rocketry
Customize new modular rockets to your liking, then explore the expanse of space with the newly overhauled Starmap. Huge expansions to the Research Tree provide new mid-game Rocketry options, giving your Duplicants an edge in the asteroid space-race.
New Critters
Get acquainted with some new fuzzy friends - if you're nice, they might help you out around the colony!

I vote you try to pump the lava around to deal with the minor volcanoes. You could send it to the bottom layer to keep feeding your lava power.

You can get rid of the void tile if you build a ladder under it, and then move a dupe to that spot and it should get revealed. I actually don't think the debug tools typically work in this case either.

Instead of the sweepy dock ( Because I believe they are quite slow), you could make a chain of auto-sweeper with automatic dispensers.

its space and power inefficient compared to a sweepy which just can be placed and forgotten until everything's cleared

The heating of module is easy. Just run few radiant pipes with heated stuff thru these gold metal tiles. They will spread temperature nicely. I always use tank of water cooled/heated to desired temperature, and then run it thru whole base inside gold metal tiles. It cool or heat as needed, and spread temperature evenly thru whole space.

I thought that since the atmo suiits and the dupe are seperate entities that the slimelung wouldnt transfer over ... but it did and the dupes started spreadiung slimelung everywhere. not even the water basins could keep up with the germs?

Hey, great build, I tried using a similar one but my aquatuner keeps on my overheating and eventually the liquid vent melt as well. Can this be caused by having too much steam in my cooling room ~40kg/tile? Also if this is the case, how can I remove steam from the room without opening it and spreading steam everywhere?
@Nathans-Sandbox
@Nathans-Sandbox 2 жыл бұрын
Your vent melts? Even when using aluminium you'd still have to get to 600 degrees. Are your steam turbines even working? You can't have too much steam, too little is usually more of a problem.

When doing any aquatuner set-up, you want the bridge below the aquatuner in the insulated tiles due to the way bridges transfer temperatures. Unless of course they fixed that recently. For a long time it has been my practice to always try to have any bridges (liquid, gas, or power) in insulated tiles.
@Nathans-Sandbox
@Nathans-Sandbox 2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter for the liquid inside, you should only avoid building bridges that start inside the steam room and end outside, as that will transfer heat outside.

Regarding unknown space - you need to move dupe there so his feet will be inside that space. It will uncover. Sweepy collects everything from floor (except eggs), then store it inside its base while mark content with sweeping command. For example If you set up sweepy next to Printing Pod, everything printed out will be marked with sweep command. Works like a charm with infinite storage. EDIT Priority does nothing on sweepy dock, dupes consider priority on storages where they are taking content from dock to.

Hey there, been watching your videos for quiet some time now. I've finally got myself a pc and thought about getting ONI aswell, but the more Videos I watch, the more I get the feeling that ONI isn't a noob friendly fame. I have the fear of getting overwhelmd by all the mechanics and stuff you have to watch out for. How did you (and the Community) get into ONI? Did you have experience from other games? Am I wrong and ONI is easy to ger into or is the whole learning curve just try and error?
@Z.DeAllen

You can learn a lot on the ONI wiki site, but a lot of it is just trial and error. I would start without the Spaced Out DLC first to get used to the base game mechanics.

I had zero experience from other similar games so I made lots of mistakes in the beginning. What helped me A LOT was watching KZbin series and tutorials about the game (eg Francis John, Nathan, Magnet etc). At first it was very hard to understand the videos, but I kept rewatching them while I was playing as well, so eventually things started to make sense to me. I started playing in vanilla (base game) and when I got to the late game in vanilla I started a new colony in the DLC. I very much recommend ONI. It is a bit stressful in the beginning, but the game is very fun :D

I play for some time now, can't get past middle stage without dupes dying horrible deaths(starvation, suffocating, heat strokes, etc), but i like to start over and over again, with different sets of dupes. Digger, farmer/rancher, researcher works best for me as starters, and get a cook and tidy/supply dupe early on. I can make the first planet pretty selfsustainable, but when i go to other planets shit hits the fan. Love the game and i like nathan's playstyle and examples on how to create contraptions.
