to me, door panels are the most challenging part of the entire install. Sure, building a big fat box for some subs is always fun but when it comes to the mids and highs you really gotta get your mind right sometimes. Stressful! But i am happy with the outcome so far. I plan on wiring these up soon, hopefully this weekend. Don't forget to watch the previous 2 video's to see how the entire process of these panels happened. Thanks for watching if you did!

The master of car audio, blessing us with another masterpiece! I wish I had money in the bank to drop you of my Tahoe an tell you “ Here make this Tahoe sexy and loud enough so old folks jump scared at a red light” lol I’ve been watching your vids since I was a teen and your Tahoe was shaking businesses windows. I said to my self I need me a ride just like this I’m on my second Tahoe, and I’m not letting it go for anything. Hopefully one day can build my ride close to your level . I had a similar set up. The problem I ran in to was tuning. I had a dm-810 problem was time alignment and speakers canceling each other out. I didn't think about that until I began tuning. Long story short I won't be doing that again on a build for sound quality. Steve and his crew got a lot more experience so I'm sure it will turn out awesome.

Those door speakers look amazing and I bet they sound just as good as they look. You are correct about door panels being quite difficult. That is why I use the factory location. I don’t have the skills to do what you do but I enjoy watching you work. I have learned a lot watching your channel. Keep up the great work Steve!!

Steve, one of these days when you get the opportunity ya gotta do a modern euro style dash build with mids and highs. With all the equipment you've amassed I can see you blowin it out of the water. Or just stroke my new found affinity of seal door enclosures with some nice cnc stack fab. Either way, the years of content you, and everyone and noone in particular influencing the hobby has been a blast. We've all come a long way from just a ported box with 12s to joe smoe with plexi, kerfs, and all sorts garage fab goodness. Thank you, Steve; for over a decade of inspiration.......and spicy banter.🤘

I'm not calling you out on you age, so don't take this comment like that, but it's great to see installers and DIYer's of our age (46 here) taking the time/initiative to learn and use new tools that not only speed the job up but can actually make it look better. The best thing is, once you designed and saved it, you can replicate again for repairs, tweaks, or for other installs. I definitely like the SEM painted trim bezel on the tweeter pods. Oh yea, I see you're using HDPE more and more. I love it! I don't think there's a better product to use in the harsh automotive environment. I know it's use a lot in the marine industry under the name, wait for it......STARBOARD.....LMAO! I know some are probably saying that you needed to put a nutcert in those mounting holes you threaded but that's the great thing about HDPE. I think the term is "tensile strength"? If not, correct me, but HDPE holds threads better than ABS and by not using a nutcert you're doing away with a point of failure. I know you have so much more going on but it's appreciated that you always keep to your install roots and post these vids up for us....and you're still teaching us as well!
@meade916
@meade916 2 жыл бұрын
this isn't Starboard. It's "Playboard" (Vycor)...similar but different texture and sheen. Not sure who would say something about nutserts, that would be comical. No need for those at all. A huge waste of time at best. Thanks man!
@justinmurphy2227
@justinmurphy2227 2 жыл бұрын
@@meade916 well you know how this industry is.... Some think their way is the right way. And see, if one pays attention, you learn something new everyday as I have never heard of Playboard/Vycor! You are definitely the go-to person when it comes to you plastics in this type of material since you've been doing this for a minute LOL. Thank you sir for the info.
@justinmurphy2227

@@meade916 also real quick, can you glue Vycor together? A lot of people say you can't glue HDPE together but I have seen some glues here lately that claim to work. I haven't had the chance you purchase any of the glue and try it myself and was just wondering.

@@meade916 I get it. I don't mind cutting them up. Don't start what you haven't planned out to completion. Risk is part of success and the reward. I think a lot of people don't get that. I have an 08 suburban and 2 sets of ct sounds 3 ways and 8 inch kenwood shallow subs for the doors to install, but you've provided enough guidance to understand the development and concept of the process. Between all the build videos, especially the backyard Tahoe install, there's tons of info to do it yourself with enough determination.
