HA! This video has been getting some attention lately! I was going to hide it until October1 Glad I didn't. The problem for me is now I cant sing the song the original way! So glad you enjoyed it! OOOO Texas! There is always this underlying tension between Alaska and Texas! Who's the bigger state! Its odd. Especially since it is obviously Alaska! Right?! Can't believe I hadn't found you before! I'm currently binge watching all your videos and had too stop here! Absolutely awesome rendition of "The Twelve Days of Christmas"👍 One of my greatest joys in life was living in Fairbanks from 1989-1992 and have regretted leaving ever since! Like you, my kids are grown and I've been flying solo for almost 4 years now and I'm never bored! I recently retired and have battled with myself about returning to Alaska because of being so far from kids. I'm most at peace with the solitude of being in the middle of nowhere, which is somewhere I want too be! When you took the Ferry, that was confirmation as that's what I have wanted too do, I drove the ALCAN back too the "Lower 48" when things were a little bit different if you get my drift! You've inspired me to make plans for my return to Alaska!👍 I'm going to watch the rest of your videos then get back for some info on property near you! Oh and new Sub!👍

Hello Steve! Welcome aboard! I am so happy you found my channel! Thank you for the sub! I have heard many people say they regret leaving Alaska. I never heard anyone say that about Colorado! 🤪 And I did worry about being so far away from my kids but I really do talk to them more now since moving here and it is usually them calling me. Checking to make sure I haven't been eaten by wolves yet! 🙄I highly recommend taking the ferry to Alaska. Yes it is more expensive but far more relaxing. When you get a chance, watch Episode 22. Best I could do about what to look for and how to find property here. Since you have already been to Alaska, you know how awesome this state is. Everything is just a bit slower here! The scenery is amazing and the silence is therapeutic. And Steve, Alaska misses you! 😁🧡

Once you start editing videos it's kind of intimidating! But as you go and make more and more videos, the video editing part is kind of fun. On my Channels tab all the way at the bottom under continual learning, watch a guy named HillierSmith. The videos he made called "5 editing mistakes KZbinrs do that annoy me" and "5 more editing mistakes" repeats in my head every time I edit a video! Murder your darlings! That will make sense if you watch it! LOL :-)

LOL thank you! I cant sing the song any other way now though! :-) I had 8 cords delivered and have one cord left. More wood is scheduled. So not too bad considering what others with smaller cabin in my neck of the woods use. I do love to plant things and watch them grow! May be no garden this year but when I am ready I am hoping to have two geodesic domes and a huge fenced in garden. Electrified to keep the bears and moose out too. A big project! But that's what I want! I may plant some veggies this year in containers. :-)

New sun here love watching your videos. Do you have problems with Mosquitoes? Heard there bad in Alaska and the Bears i think i would be scared.

Hello Pam! Thank you so much! Mosquitoes are a problem here in Alaska but not too bad where I am at. At least not yet. But the mosquitoes are pretty darn big. Not sure how they can land on skin and not be noticed! LOL! :-) Bears are all over the place out here but I wouldn’t say they are a problem. If they become a problem, that’s why you always carry a side arm. Always! And for the moose too! They kill more people per year than all other animals combined! (In Alaska). You may be scared at first but you would get used to it. Just always stay alert! Thank you Pam! :-)

@@pam164 Then there are the “no see ums” Very small biting flies that you can barely see. Leave itchy red bumps! Worse than mosquitoes! :-)
