I beg to differ on the origin of the name 'Kilimanjaro'! The local name of the mountain by the natives (Taveta, Taita, Pare, Chagga) living around it, is KIREMA. It is documented that when the missionary, Wray, first saw the mountain from one of the slopes of Taita Hills, he asked a native, while pointing, what that mountain was. The native thought he wanted to go there. He told him "Kirema ni charo!" (meaning to reach Kirema is a long journey!). In his diary, he penned the mountain as such; 'Kiremani-charo'. Later maps by the British and Germans corrupted the entry as KILIMANJARO.

Am lucky to have experienced both sides of this rock. Both on the Tz windward side(marangu) and the kenyan side windward side(oloitoktok). But whichever side you look at it, Kilimajaro is breathtaking everytime you look at it up close. It's the highest point in Africa after all.

I absolutely love the show but ntv really needs to invest in crisp clear cameras. The picture quality of the current cameras is quite poor.
