I love to see interviewers who essentially DON'T play by the rules, always asking the same questions, etc. I would rather not get a ton of new info, but see the boys at ease, just being themselves, than see them forced into answering the same questions over and over. Theory: If Nicholas Bourbaki // the Bourbaki group has nothing to do with the Niners, but everything at the same time, wouldn’t that correlate to the names of the Niners themselves? The names (Nico, Keons, etc.) all sound like gibberish but are actually taken from songs off of Blurryface. Which raises another important point: They were named after Blurryface for seemingly no reason, just like the Bourbaki group. But the difference is, They’re named after Blurryface because they DO have a correlation to him-Clancy is trying to escape Dema // the bishops, just like Tyler was fleeing from Blurryface by the end of the album. Idk this all made sense in my head I hope it makes sense to some of you !!

my favorite interviews are the ones where the interviewer and the Boys kinda just chill and vibe together and this was that. there was enough Trench talk to let us know that, yes, Tyler is still being a lil shit about not giving away too much lore (which i love! i imagine he enjoys watching us theorize, but maybe that's just wishful thinking), but a good chunk of this was them talking about chest hair and hats and its... so nice. i like seeing their personalities. i like hearing them talk about their creative processes, too, but i think i enjoy it so much more when the interview has the same vibe as a sleep over - just guys bein' dudes. and yes, im partial to this interview in particular because i attended the show following it, and Yes, ya bitch looked fresh to DEATH in their bandito gear, and YES i was dry sobbing the entire fucking concert what of it????

Nalbis, in his video breakdown of the album said that the Nicolas Bourbaki group centred themselves around the idea of topology meaning that no matter can really change when you get down to it. That it doesn’t matter how much something may “morph” it will have the same characteristics and behaviours. Much like The idea in TOPs song morph that Nicolas Bourbaki is trying to impose on Tyler telling him he belongs to that theory. No matter how he changes he can’t escape his insecurities and fears and all the negativity. Anyways, this is a theory that I didn’t create but I think makes sense and gives a deeper meaning to the album so figure out how you take it.
