Twenty One Pilots has literally changed my whole music taste. I started out as the biggest city boy who was obsessed with Jason Derulo and Watch Me Whip and, you get the point. Then maybe only like 8 months ago, I heard Stressed Out on my pandora for the first time (I had it on the Today's Hits radio) and I didn't really like it only because of how proper he rapped. Then, I heard it about a billion more times and became obsessed with the song and knew every lyric. Then soon after that, I listened to the rest of Blurryface, which was the most amazing thing ever. Then, that leaded to typing in on Google, "all twenty one pilots albums" and I freaking died. They've literally changed my way of living and I think I like it.

I went to a school close to where I live and would occasionally walk there , I would listen to music just to pass the time. When this song came on I balled my eyes out while walking because just the night before I began to cut again after 6 months of being clean. At my old elementary school we had a public bus stop with a bench, I sat down and closed my eyes just listening to the song as people came and gone even people from my school who walked also. I showed up late to school by 2 minutes and my teacher asked why, and before I could open up my mouth the quietest girl I the class said "She was appreciating the life she was given, even though she may not asked for it" and my teacher being the awesome music lover she was excused me and understood the topic when I explained the full story to her. And that's the story of how I met my best friend.

You, on the front lines. You, battling depression and anxiety with every ounce of energy. You, begging for refreshments on the battle field. You, bending under the weight of the enemies sword. Let this be your marching song. Your battle song. Your song of encouragement. Take this song, and turn it into a weapon. Turn it into your tool against the darkness that is pushing against you, striving to cut you down. You, who are brave. You, who have taken on the enemies of darkness in a horrific challenge. You, who are fighting against double-edged swords and forked tongues as you rise from your bed each and every morning. I know the army against you may seem great, and your sword dull. I know the words on your lips may not portray what you long to say. I know, oh how I know, that you feel it would be better to just lie down and drift away as the enemy takes you once and for all. But yet again, I say this to you: take this song. It is your battle cry. Use it, and continue the fight. Keep your head high, my fren. It gets better. It does. I promise.

I'm writing a paper about my interpretation of the song, I love that it can be interpreted in many different ways. I see it as Tyler pleading with people to stop living meaningless lives and finding their worth in meaningless things. I know Tyler believes in God, and I believe that this song pleads for people to realize that life is vanity and worthless without bringing glory to God through it. That is just how I see it, and this song has helped me in my faith tremendously!

How frustrating and so degrading His time, we're wasting As time will fly by and the sky will cry as light is fading And he is waiting, oh so patiently While we repeat the same routine as we will please com-fort-ability Please don't think about why you can't sleep in the evening And please don't be afraid of what your soul is really thinking Your soul knows good and evil, your soul knows both sides And it's time you pick your battle, and I promise you this is mine (I promise you)

Spec Bliss this part speaks to me and it made me love this song. But what does this part exactly mean?
@aware12859 жыл бұрын
Berenice Salazar He is talking about God and how in spite of the grace that He gives us we fall short and waste His time, but because of grace, because of Jesus, He just patiently waits for us as we fight this battle with our flesh. And it is our battle, for the rest of our lives until He takes us home. As Paul says in Ephesians, we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against principalities and the powers of darkness.

"I am cold" You see that's the lyric that hits me. People don't think much of it. Just "oh he's depressed". But it has a deeper meaning. When you are sad enough, suicidal enough, you understand. You can get cold. And sometimes when I do and I ask myself quietly "why am I so cold?", that's what makes me start to cry. You have to witness a moment to understand it. That's why TØP is here for us

"We find our worth in giving birth and stuff" really hits me. I've hard a really difficult time coming to terms that my life is pretty much just going to be school, work, and death. I want more. But all that's destined to me is raising a family, even though I do NOT want to get married and have children. I want to sing and dance, and be part of a band. But I have a horrible singing voice, I can't play instruments, I can't write songs to save myself, and I'm a girl. Why is being a girl bad you ask? Well, have you ever heard of a female band like TOP? No. I want to be part of a band that screams and shouts and drums, and has crazy lights and brings tears to people's eyes, and can wear what they want, and give hope to their fans. But only boys can do that. It's gross if a girl gets sweaty like Ty and Jish do. It's improper for them to shout and sing as loud as they can. Ugh, I don't even know where I'm going with this. I want to be in a band, and do things like TOP. But I am a girl. And so, I have to turn away and accept my fate as a family maker. Because others find my worth in giving birth and stuff.
