Is their a difference when playing more expensive basses and playing cheaper ones? I’ve only played a 400 dollar one so I don’t know. This one sounds way better than mine but looks very similar but I’m assuming this is way more expensive

Yes there are definitely multiple differences between budget & expensive instruments. Overall with more expensive instruments you are getting better parts & a better build but here are some specifics: -High quality instruments usually have very good necks/fretwork as opposed to budget instruments. -The electronics in a cheaper instrument are more likely to fail over time, I have experienced this myself with my Squiers & Sterling Ray 5 multiple times. -Other parts of the bass such as the bridge, tuners, pickups are upgraded on more expensive instruments. However these parts can be replaced on cheaper instruments. Professionals even swap out these parts on their instruments to meet their requirements. Hope this helps!
