Ernest: “yeah idk this song is really cryptic, it’s going to be a big struggle for me idek where to begin really Let’s just dive in “ Ernest 5 mins later: *skillfully analyzes every bar of the song while thoughtfully interpreting the lyrics and video into meaningful metaphors which shine light onto mental illness and toxic social normalcies while also connecting the dots within complicated storylines which even long-term fans still struggle to do*

This also loops back into the beginning of the music video for HeavyDirtySoul, where he is being driven by Nico in the car until the fire that comes from Josh breaks it down and burns it, which then of course leads back into Jumpsuit. The cyclical nature of the videos is a manifestation of the cyclical nature of dealing with mental health issues. People tend to go through cycles to feeling better and thinking they have things beaten, but eventually those problems resurface and you get dragged back right to where you started. There is no one starting place in these four videos, they all tie together. You say that you struggle to understand this song, but honestly you got it much faster than I did when I first started digging into Trench. As usual your skills of picking out lyrics and understanding symbolism is awesome. That is what makes you such a great reaction channel. It isn't about the reactions themselves (though it is always fun to see you get hyped about the same stuff that hypes me up), it's also the analysis you bring to the game that sets you apart. Keep up the awesome work, always love seeing your stuff, particularly the TOP stuff

"We win but not everyone will get out" - from nico and the niners connect the story. You can see what that means after "Heathens" music video that also goes as part of the story. (Basically there's 4 song that connected - Heathens, morph , bandito and leave the city)

I never did understand this song. I have a better understanding though and it makes me like Tyler even more. And it's crazy how significant the vulture is because it feeds off of dead animals. The bishops are sort of like it, it feeds off the pain of people. It takes power from it and reenergizes from it.
@lucylume4 жыл бұрын
Also the alternative meaning, Tyler is the vulture. He is feeding off his own pain to create music. 'I am a vulture who feeds on pain.'

#thethirdernest at 10:50 I think you missed the reference on this line: “But compensation feels a lot like rising up to dominate by track two At least they all know all they hear comes from a place” Note the reference to Lane Boy with this line, but more importantly, I believe this line is actually a reference to Stressed Out (by far their greatest radio hit) which was track 2 on the BlurryFace album. :)

Seeing them perform this live is such an absolute moment. This was the one song I wanted a full video recording of from my show. Your breakdowns of their songs are always so spot on, and I love watching them. One thing that has been skipped/looked over; Josh is the leader of the Banditos, which means that he was also a prisoner of DEMA. He has struggled with mental issues and had to break their hold on him. He's helped Tyler a lot, but I think Tyler has also been there for him.

Ernest you have to watch the ‘Heathens’ music video because it does in fact connect to the overall story by the lyrics on ‘Nico And The Niners’ stating “...And start a concert a complete diversion, start a mob and you can be quite certain we’ll win but not everyone will get out...” it’s summarizes the events that took place in that prison.

Shaving his head and mentioning how he "got back what I once bought back in the slot" - Car Radio In several shots there appears to a be a "Bandito" wearing an orange/red beanie hat - maybe a callback to orange color of Heathens music video or a bishop in disguise watching Tyler? Interesting link: "Jumpsuit cover me"- Jumpsuit, "My jumpsuit is on steady, I'm lighter when i'm lower" - Nico and the Niners, now he is so "light" he "know(s) how to levitate up off my feet" - Levitate Keep up the great work.

I just imagine Tyler watching ur videos and being like... “this guy might know too much”
@mimifolina44254 жыл бұрын
The shaving of his head connects to “Car radio”. “I have these thoughts, so often I ought To replace that slot with what I once bought 'Cause somebody stole my car radio And now I just sit in silence”... Dema meaning “tower of silence”. Tyler got out(levitate) by the help of the “banditos” (family and friends). That’s why you see he never puts the yellow tape(hope) on his jumpsuit himself, it’s always the banditos that put the tapes on him(in nico and the niners video). You can also levitate, with just a little help.
@Lenny-ue8hk4 жыл бұрын
And in Levitate he says "I got back what I once bought, back in that slot I won't need to replace" Also in CR his lungs "fill with fire, exhale desire" and in Levitate: "ever since the 7th grade I've learned to firebreathe"

My take on the shaving of the head has to do with a callback to Car radio where he gets lost in his own thoughts when it gets quiet, and he is having his head shaved here while he is talking about Nico and the Niners coming when everyone else is asleep and he is left with his own thought.
@coltonaallen4 жыл бұрын

the way i took the "wooden wedges under doors" is using them to keep the doors open so that someone else can keep an eye on him and make sure he "stays away from the ledges" (ie. a window) but thats just the way i took it
@dawsonsschittcreek53954 жыл бұрын
It also keeps the light coming in a "well lit room"
@BarberJBrown4 жыл бұрын
Been waiting all day for this one lol I think you killed the interpretation! I think the wooden wedges really could be both to keep things out or keep him in the room. Watching this it made me think it was a play off of his lyric about staying off the ledge so maybe the wedges keep him in his room to keep him off the ledge outside of the room.

I know I’m late but the first time I heard this song my first thought when he said “cowards only come through when the hour is late and everyone’s asleep mind you” was when people take their own lives they are often called cowards from people who don’t understand and people take their own lives when nobody else is around or late at night when nobody can stop them. I don’t know if that’s correct but that has always been my perspective.

Bro, No channel bigger than 1,000 subscribers has reacted to any recent Cal Scruby songs and you could totally tap into that market, personally i think he is better than most rappers out now. Check out his newest song "Nostalgia". other cal scruby songs/music videos that are dope: Shut up (i just love this song cause i think its fire) Taylor swift (dope verses, flex chorus) I got way too high (can confirm, successfully expresses what its like to be too high) who are you (swag level 100) brainwash (clever) Let me live (all round dope) worst day of my life (is a light hearted sad song) my anxiety (is a really clever expression about depression and an all round good sad song) Practice (franchise player) Its nothing (swag level 200) Also if you at all care, what makes his story so interesting is that he was on the come up in the commercial scene and had a song with chris brown called "aint shit change". He saw the inns and outs of that life and how his music is constricted by the labels and was all like: Fuck yall im doing my own thing. He created a new channel apart from his vevo channel and just started putting out Fire. His bars got so good cause he had to work super hard to stay relevant without the big brand labels pushing his shit. Now, anything he drops is an instant click for me homie. Would absolutely love a reaction and would love to help put you on to that heat.
