I really hope the entire album has the energy levels that next semester has and the switch ups. Also the screams. Depending on the rest of the songs this could be a top 3 album.

Love these guys. This song is the first track from their upcoming album Clancy which is the end of a story they've been telling over the last few albums, the long intro kinda reminds me of the opening credits of the final installment of a movie franchise in how epic it feels and how the camera travels across the scenerery. they have a video called 'I Am Clancy' that kinda explains the story. The lines 'I created this world to feel some control, desroy it if i want' is from their song Bandito and is a reference to how Tyler (singer) created this story as a way to explore his own mental health struggles, centered around a fictional character called Clancy (maybe shortened from clandestine?) who is trying to escape from a city called Dema out into the wild continent of Trench (which was also the name of a previous album and is referenced by the line 'Welcome back to Trench' at the beginning). in the last music video the characters had been washed up on an island outside of Trench and now they are returning.

Clancy is actually Tyler's (the dude who sings) name by the story line. Smth like alter ego, i guess

Thanks for reacting to Overcompensate. I love the "half full, half empty, save half for your taxes" line. He turned the optimistic/pessimist expression even bleaker saying you actually only have 25% Tyler's genius. His melodic raps are so good. And every time you think you know the direction the music will go, he does the opposite. It catches you off guard the first time, but it keeps it interesting.

Keep going with more TØP reactions, please! They have a video playlist as well as a short summary video on their channel for you to catch up on the story/lore. Otherwise, they have a TON of great songs. I really love how much you catch musically and your energy is great.

I love TOP! This is the first track off their upcoming album “Clancy.” It’s the final chapter of a storyline / lore that crosses several albums. They’ve put a playlist on their channel called “Storyline” with the videos. But the “I Am Clancy” album teaser video walks through the storyline and the characters. Basically Tyler (lead singer) has created a world that represents his mental health journey. It’s very intricate with a lot of layers, but he has said that this album will be less cryptic. TOP is a very talented duo and like Ren, you can’t really put them into a specific genre. In addition to the lore-based videos, I think you would also really like Car Radio. That was one of their early tracks.

The name Clancy is so layered and deep. I looked up if the name is a slang term and yup... That word is used for saying someone is CLANDESTINE

Clancy is the main character in the storyline to their music I Am Clancy is a video they made to catch everyone up on the storyline and what videos go with it

Really enjoyed your reaction and based on other reactions I've seen you do, I believe you'll really like where TOP takes their musical artistry. Def down for more! That said, yeah, there's a storyline here, about 5 albums and 10+ years in the making... this upcoming Clancy album is the culmination to that storyline, which is absolutely phenomenal. And if you wanna ck out more, just start with the ones in TOP's youtube playlist called The Story. They put a little bow on it for us 😉 ❤|-/💛
