Considering the message of the song, it is genuinely terrifying when they hit the skyscraper rooftop. I always get goosebumps, and that's the point. All the other clips feel like toying around with the idea of jumping off a roof and hitting the ground, but then you get that hard cut to the skyscraper roof and realize... oh shit, this is real. You jump off that and you're gone. No more laying in a farm field and continuing to sing. I also love how in that specific part they don't show someone "laying on the ground" because there wouldn't be much left. I've been a fan since Vessel and I truly, truly hope that as many people struggling with depression find this album as possible, because Tyler clearly decided to ditch the "metaphors" and dive straight into the "hey friends, PLEASE survive" in this album. This will likely be a very, VERY important album when it comes to mental health

the wordplay is so smart: "never have to drop" - as in, 'don't inconvenience yourself to drop by and check in on me, i dont want you to see me like this' (but then tyler urges us: always DO check in with the people we know) - and 'never drop', meaning check in with someone before things get so bad that they drop or off themselves - and maybe, dropping, falling, like in air catcher on that note, how are you all?

1:50 I don't know if this really means something, but nobody has pointed this out yet, so here I go. Tyler is singing/rapping upwards, to where we know Josh is located. He is "talking" to Josh with the words "If I'm being real, man, don't know how I feel, man, about you sleeping so close to a weapon you conceal, man. Those night terrors are not something to take lightly. I know that it's a risk saying this, don't fight me!" We all know that Tyler has problems, but we don't know that much about Josh in that aspect, just that he struggles with anxiety. But, and I'm speaking from experience, those kinds of friendships are often mutual. You help each other out, check on each other. Many people seem to think that Josh is care-free or something and is just helping Tyler out, but that is because Tyler is telling his story, not Joshs, which is completely fine and natural, but we can't just assume that Josh doesn't have a story to tell. He's just shy and private and not a songwriter, he's the drummer, an instrument which he picked up with the purpose of hiding behind it and not being in the spotlight. Anyway, maybe I'm just overanalysing and this shot means something completely different, but it's definately something to think about.
@EM-nl6sg2 ай бұрын
Completely agree! It is also probable that josh has input on aspects of the music videos, song writing, and other creative aspects, even if he doesnt want to be featured as prominently. Everyone has a struggle of some kind, even if they dont think its important enough to make center stage. Without josh there is no 21 pilots, they are a team, not a solo act.

As someone who has made music it probably wasn’t even all having to do with Paul meany. The possibilities are endless. Basically kinda like when Tyler said “my creativity is only free when I’m playing shows” when it’s live he can change it to what ever

Nah its gotta be said, this is the stand out song. The play on words in the title, the begining emphasizing that by sounding like circus music, the quadruple meaning behind the word 'drop', the slow cooker build up, Tyler's high pitched mellow moments breaking up the heavy synth and drums, the perfect finish to a song like this and the fact that the beat is stuck in my head... 10/10. Best on the album and I bloody hope its played live when I see it in NZ. Well done everyone involved and to the boys.

Personally I believe routines in the night is the best song on the album but I totally agree with you here. I personally prefer when songs have more verses and less choruses. In the videos, Josh does not use conspicuous tricks to silence the drum set during filming. He places two cymbals, one on top of the other and loosens the hoops completely. Wow, brilliant idea.

I did easily when I saw their recent ticket prices. Never dropped a greedy ass band so hard in my life! They chose flex pricing, they chose to play for rich people only. So much for sticking up for the little guy!

Dear Tyler & Josh: You two are a gift to planet earth, what a wonderful masterpiece you have created with your new project Clancy! The melodies are so soothing, edgy, soul twisting, and comforting, the lyrics in a style and league of their own, mind bending, and touch your heart way down deep, the styles of music gender covered. Vocals outstanding, mesmerizing and such a joy to listen to, the formulas of the tunes take you on a soaring journey, so fresh! The mixes are ear candy, a sonic delight, with the producing simply brilliant, everything seems to have been perfectly placed, timeless for sure! The videos, well what can you say, amazingly brilliant! Have been listening to these guys for years, have always really enjoyed them immensely, but did not discover the depth of their creativity and just how awesome they are until this release. Seeing how the videos intertwine with the alternate reality in play and ours, just makes my endorphins release and brain come to life! This is one of the most enjoyable releases in awhile for me, loving it! I wish you two all the good energy you have put out, to carry you through your live tour shows, wishing you the most wonderful time, enjoy! P.S, I will comment on the Priests when I learn more, don’t want to piss off Blurry face. :0 Sincerely; Mark

I genuinely believe the heart of Twenty One Pilots' success is Josh's ability to bring such emotion out of his drums. Both of these artists uplift each other in their work and it always turns out amazing.

Crazy word play in so many ways. "I don't want anyone", "know me or not", you don't have to drop any plans because I already made up my mind to take my life. Double entendre. Usually when you're depressed you say it without saying it. So, check in if you hear double speak.
