Anyone else feel like their albums come out at the time when you need them most? I was literally sitting on the couch last night feeling like I used to years ago, things feeling too big to tackle. Then I looked at my phone and realized the livestream was about to start. Balled through the whole thing.

Absolutely and also cried my eyes out during the livestream. Scaled and Icy was exactly what I needed when it came out and Clancy feels like it's exactly what I need right now

100% I started feeling that way, slightly, as I went through the album. Then I landed on oldies station and was stunned into silence. I was in the car with partner after telling him all I’m going through and how I’m actually doing, and oldies station really just described my entire situation perfectly. It’s crazy how this album found all of us during a difficult/strange time in our lives. I’m glad we all have it

The lyrics hit me so hard. If you've gone through getting over an addiction only to relapse whether meaning to or not, having that feeling of anger and frustration afterwards, losing that progress is just so awful. All you can do is keep fighting.

This whole song and music video is exactly what relapsing is like. You’ve been clean for so long (symbolized through tylers outgrown hair) and it’s suddenly completely stripped away from you. You have nothing else to do but look back at when you were clean, dance in your defeat to find where you went wrong, and wait for your streak to grow back. Im 10 months clean and I think this crowd will understand how hard that was

Other way around. The long, untrimmed and unkempt hair is due to mental health and addiction. Losing any care at all over appearance. This is very common to occur. The shaving is snapping back and doing something about it.

Everyone is talking about the Car Radio references, but I can't stop thinking about the fact that he's talking about the beginning of the Clancy story overall. He's talking about how he's running from something that he kicked in '17, which was the year Trench was being written. Also, in the first pre chorus, he says, "It's a blackside, I commandeered a ride, drove it 'til the engine died. All of that progress lost today." which makes me think back to Heavydritysould and Jumpsuit, the "hot ride" being from heavydirtysoul, and "All of that progress lost today" when Tyler gets recaptured and taking back to Dema. I genuinely might be reading into this wrong, but this is what this song feels like to me, not a reference to Car Radio, but a reference the the very start of Clancy's story.

2:04 sound and Tyler's singing following it is a different kind of pain. Like coming to a term with something you've done and you can't change, realising how dire the situation is, but despite the melancholy and everything the song ends with an upbeat tone, almost as if there is still hope. The light at the end of the tunnel.

time to pour my heart out. i’ve been struggling with substance abuse for the past couple years, constantly swinging back and forth between cleaning myself up and falling off the wagon. it’s a vicious and unforgiving cycle. this song, and vignette too, hits painfully close to home for me because of this. it makes me think… growing up and maturing with twenty one pilots has been so surreal, because if clancy had been released when i was a younger fan, it likely wouldn’t have resonated as hard as it does right now. tyler just knows when to write these songs, and who to put them out for. the timing is always right for me. i’ve been following them for over a decade, and their songs are undoubtedly a part of my life. sobriety is so hard it feels impossible, but i can’t let the little girl who found this duo die. i can’t lose this music, not after losing so much of myself. i hope to still be here for the next phase of their journey, as well as mine - and the next phase, and the next phase. goodnight

Something that is always going to bring me back to this song (and music video) is Tyler’s dancing. As soon as I saw it hit so hard because I keep being reminded that the things that he sings about are the things that I’m currently experiencing. one of the ways that I deal with the uncontrollable storm in my mind is to let my body move in any way that it can to express that emotion. It’s like a physical reset. It looks so similar it’s uncanny. I love this song and this album!

This song captures that 'oh shit' moment when you realize you've relasped/fallen back into hold habits and now you've gotten pull yourself back up from that trench you worked so hard to crawl out of in the past. The defeat, frustration, annoyance with yourself and at the same time that determination you get when you know 'okay I've done this before, time to do it again, time to win again' feeling. It's so hard to capture, and this song did it so perfectly I cried so hard with I heard it first. I have no words...just amazing.

“I’ve been praying for my elasticity to return to the way that it was” I feel this to my bones… Sometimes your energy and mood are so low for so long that you start longing for the “elasticity” you had before, that spark that lighted you up. You wish you could be a past version of yourself, you want your old self back, but you can’t have her and you start to mourn her. So much hopelessness and grief described in such a poetic way.

i too am defensive of this song! and i agree that oldies is probably my favorite. to have that one follow this is so powerful. the weight of struggling not to relapse and 'backsliding', turning into pushing through the pain and your eyes adjusting to the darkness 😭😭 this whole album is so fucking good though i can't stop listening to it !!!

This song means a lot to me. For me it's about depression/self harm and unfortunately I can relate to this. Tyler whatever you're going through you're never alone and please stay strong. This whole album means a lot to me because it's helping me recover from an eating disorder and other stuff and when I listen to Clancy I feel like someone is understanding me

This song and video is the most relaxing song on Clancy. Despite his relapse, he continues towards the light. The mood of the song musically is so chill despite the intensity of the lyrics. It is real. Tyler's authenticity both lyrically and as a person in general is what keeps me hooked to this band. The same for Josh. Even though he doesn't write the lyrics, his genuine warmhearted disposition is something you don't see much in people generally, nonetheless in celebrities. Snap back is definitely in the top three on this album for me.

Beautifully said! I agree 100% They are such a special pair! We should all be grateful that they decided to make music & share it with the world. I was introduced to them back in 2010 & the rest is history! They have been one of my favorite bands ever since! They NEVER disappoint! I can’t choose a favorite song off this album or even in general because they are literally ALL SO DAMN GOOD! “So Few, So Proud, So much emotion… Hello Clancy” TøP forever |-/ ❤️‍🔥

This is definitely my favorite song of Clancy. This is a huge message... and what I feel about this is: whether you progress, you're always step back, meaning each progress has a regression... anytime... as long as you stay in the fight.. But I love how this lyrics can have so much impact and sense of union in each of us.. We love you Twenty One Pilots❤️ From Italy!!

At the end, he didn't sit in silence... he danced... until those blinding lights appeared (which reminded me of the Ride music video). Kinda brigs back the part "I've been thinking too much/ Help me". And it also reminded me of Redecorate because he pulls a mirror from under his blankets "Blankets over mirrors, she tends to like it/ She's not afraid of her reflection/ But of what she might see behind it".

This song means so much to me. It may end up my favorite on the album. I know Tyler said he would probably be the most defensive over this song. I relate so much to the lyrics, they make me so emotional. “It’s been 25 times, and it’s a backslideeee” hit so different.” Can’t forget “I have seem to run out of excuses for why I am this way.” I’m thankful for what I have overcome in mental health and I pray you all do the same. i've sit in silence to hear him talk, yet it felt like i was letting my whole heart and soul out. i've been struggling with the many faces of addiction for more than 4 years now and only those who actually relate to the feeling of guilt, selfishness, lack of love and any kind of emotion at all, replaced for the will to use, will know what means to relapse, to start over and over, to fall down and to get up again. the healing isn't always instant about a heal, but to get to know you again - what gracious it is. thank you 21 pilots.

PLEASE DO show him/her the video or play the song for him! Sometimes it is very hard to explain in words what one can in music, lyrics and art... tell him or her as well why this resonates with you or TOP in general... there us a key you both can find together in the experience... the key that will open up another level for you, one that will allow you to grow, heal and progress on your journey with a smile on your face. This music is medicine for many of us, young and old.... have faith that you are going to be alright and probably better than even alright. Good luck. Enjoy!
