The part at 53:32 is so strikingly true. Many of us born to Sikh households live that way. I hope our generation and those to come can change this.

@BasicsofSikhi I really enjoyed both videos in this meditation series. Like you, I was never told to meditate. Then, when I was, I didn't know how to do it, what to think of, or even WHY do it. I share all of your video knowledge with my mom, and we have deep discussions regarding all of this. We are both on the path...just treading a little slowly ;) Thank you for all of the clarification.

WJKWJF 🙏 I'm not born Sikh but find myself drawn to that path. One thing I'd like to share for the rationalist/skeptic to consider and maybe help understand this better is this: we know out conscious mind has very limited scope and there is a vast unconscious underneath. Our brains take in all sensory input then process it, edit and even fabricate to create conscious experience. This, I think, is Maya. And in that conscious experience is this "I" which you identify with your name your body your relationships with the world around you, occupation, social status etc. But that's all just a story more or less, a fantasy. The reality is the whole universe being one thing, the Ek. Think about it like in physics there E=MC2, you have all this energy contained within matter...matter is basically condensed energy. Then you have Law of Conservation of Energy, which says this energy is neither created or destroyed. That's like the timeless, deathless, unborn, one, yeah? So what our bodies are is like a flower on a tree, it's grown out of the whole universe. No tree, no flower. No universe, no you. The two cannot be separated. Nothing can really, it's all Ek. Mind doesn't see that though, it's busy telling the story of you. So I feel like simran helps to give that part of mind that's telling story something else to do. To say naam instead of I/me. This way the dream starts to evaporate and you start to become aware of the true reality of Ek. It just becomes like one seamless experience of Waheguru. And you say waheguru cause it's so awesome. That's my impression at least, not born in this so could be off but makes sense to me. Sat Sri Akal

Thankyou for this wonderful explanation! I just started to watch the whyguru course and its really answering some questions i had in mind. One confusion that i do have after seeing this video: why is it important for a sikh to do path if meditating on the naam is also enough?
@gursidaksingh404 жыл бұрын
naam is praising lord for what he has given us, what he has done for us, naam is like praising his doings and much more, whereas doing path is like living the ways of the gurus , learning how to live life in a gurus way.

Further to my comments I respect other avtars may they be from any religion but RSS interference into Sikhism is not acceptable. If we had to chant Himdu avtaars then Guru Nanak ji did notvneed to name our dharam he could claim to be new Hindu avtaar. I'll await for your reply to my early answer.

Prabhsimran Singh there is no such thing as "hindu" avtars all sent by waheguru for their ages. in kalijug guru nanak is the avtar the current roop of guru nanak is sri guru granth sahib ji and guru khalsa panth.

I don't agree with way you explained Waheguru. I kept thing in my head you are RSS agent. I think you are because Wahe means great means wow and Guru we all know. Veere ji I demand you explain who gave you this interpretation ? SIkh panth is already divided and hurts to see ut damaged further. Just for your record I watcg you videos and appreciate them but not this one so please reply your explanation ?
@harjEskrimawarrior10 жыл бұрын
Its the explanation from Bhai Gurdas ji's Vahraas. Bhai Gurdas ji was one of the closest sikhs to the Gurus from Guru Angad to Guru Hargobind I believe. You should read it it's full of knowledge and there is nothing incorrect about the explanation given in the video. NO RSS LINK!!!!!! so relax.
@basicsofsikhi10 жыл бұрын
yes, thats what the RSS would do...make a channel spreading Sikhi to the youth in the west. When you demand an explanation, do you watch the video as well? It explains the reference in there. Watch our video "Why chant Vaheguru?"
