Can you do the Fante versions of the Akan names.....also I haven’t seen Afia spelled like Aphia or Equea like that...interesting Other versions I’ve seen: Akua -> Ekua Afia -> Efya or Efia

Thank you Yallipop. I'll see what I can do. Regarding the other spellings of the names, I believe you'll see a lot of those when you search for them on Facebook, for instance. Again, in Twi, these spellings ain't right

I’m not surprised at the q for k thing. In Jamaica, certain historical figures who had these names, they were rendered differently sometimes in spelling. Like, we had a Kwaw(Thursday born) in our history. But his name is usually spelled Quao. We had a Kwabena and sometimes it’s spelled Qwabena. We had a Kwadwo, but it’s either spelled Cujo or Kojo. We had a lady we called Queen Cuba. She was a Wednesday born, typically spelled today as Akuba. And we had a Kwame. Sometimes it’s spelled that way, but also sometimes Quame. We had Kwasi too, but oftentimes it was spelled Quashee.

Hello me too. Same spelling, but I'm wondering why kwesi and not kwasi. Is it because of a different dialect? Born in america and trying to understand my name better

Hello Yaw, I am a female born on Thursday, and my parents gave me the name Yawaridi, but I see that a female born on a Thursday is Yaa. I was born in NYC, in 1958, and perhaps, back then, the correct information was not available. Your commentary about this, at your earliest convenience would be greatly appreciated. Medaase.

This is for a 7 day week. What happened to the other forces of nature that governed the 3 missing days from when people followed a 10 day week? How does this work when a people change calendars? Is no one born to emit those energies anymore or is it huge oversight? Because that would mean someone thinks they were born on one day but were actually born on another. I was told it was Europeans who changed from 10 day week to 5 day week to present 7 day week to disturb the societies rituals and that this change was so recent that there are people alive still who remember 5 day week.

Hello Pam, we sure have other names. These are our 'soul names' based on the day we're born, which are mostly not even included in our official names. Mostly.
