Jihyo's rich, powerful vocals are amazing. I love seeing their live performances during world tours since she always gets so hyped during songs and throws in new adlibs, like Go Hard she'd yell it out during the chorus, same for Brave. I like those songs so much more after hearing the live versions.

I already knew you were gonna love UP NO MORE haha, but honestly like we all do, this is the most stramed b-side on spotify if you don't count CRY FOR ME I share the same feeling with you on HELL IN HEAVEN i want to love the song so bad but I wish it gave us more Also I think DO WHAT WE LIKE felt short because of the song structure, it's only verse/chorus/verse/chorus with no bridges

21:14 we had the same reaction when I first listened to the song. The way she embodied the lyrics to the song is just fire. I've seen a lot of EWO album reactions and you're the only one who noticed

Personally, I don't find this album as consistent as Formula of Love, but Up No More, and Handle It, and Say Something really stood out above the rest for me.

it's funny cuz I'm actually the opposite, I find Eyes Wide Open as more consistent than Formula of Love. Eyes Wide Open had this common theme, retro, dark, and deeper conceptually. while Formula of Love feels like there's a jumble of bubblegum pop like Scientist, Candy, but for some reason we have tracks like Last Waltz and Hello that are so far out than the other tracks that are more disco

Without giving too many spoilers, I think this album got so much better as I made my way through it. I think both albums are ridiculously good though. Will hopefully have the next 2 parts out by tomorrow! :)

@@velky_reeds I do agree that Formula of Love has a problem of tacking on songs that feel like out of place singles at the beginning and end, so much that I have a hard time even considering them part of the album-- they feel more like misguided bonus track placement (it's a very common problem/pet peeve of mine with re-releases of classic albums). I don't agree that having a wild mix of genres makes something less cohesive, though, personally. I'd take out Hello, The Feels, and that dumb remix at the end, but that's about it.

I think on initial listening, Formula of Love seems more cohesive because there are disco pop tracks consecutively. It still manages to be somewhat diverse with stand out tracks like Hello and Last Waltz though. Production is also superb, which is to be expected since it was released a year after Eyes Wide Open. However, I think Eyes Wide Open is actually better in terms of track listing/ordering and overall theme/concept without having to resort to a single genre. Plus, at the time of its release, no one really expected TWICE to go to this direction sonically, so it was such a pleasant surprise when they did it so amazingly. Overall, both albums are amazing though! Really showcased the group's musical growth and experimentation with sounds.

​@@Venz04HD I can get behind the idea that it might be more conceptually more cohesive, but I don't find the success rate of the songs as consistent and convincing, personally. It kind of dips in and out of greatness for me, whereas there is a momentum/flow to Formula of Love where none of the songs really start to lose me in the same way (and even the relatively weaker songs are elevated by the overall album mood), personally (other than probably Hello, but that's so deep into the experience that I'm already sold by that point-- and the sub-unit gimmick kind of makes it fit to some degree). I do think Eyes Wide Open might have higher peaks than Formula of Love, for me, though. Anyways, just my two cents. Not saying it's bad relative to other K-Pop albums, either.

'do what we like' is so Sana. :D it's remind me her in 'weekly idol' when she & Jihyo & (one i can't remember :'( ) do freestyle rap, Jihyo rap 'god Jihyo' and Sana rap 'don't like it, don't buy it' while holding their album (which they should promote to people to buy it. :D) and Jihyo face after knowing that is hilarious. :D for their early stuffs, should go for their first 3 EP.s (the story begins, page two, TWICEcoaster) which i feel they are TWICE's core till now (don't just book by cover (or anything are more than just one side), experimental, roller coaster) anyway, have a good day. :)
